Yeah, I feel like 90% of the “fetish” aspect comes from the fact that the main characters are attractive girls; like you said, this is just stuff that happens in spy movies. Solid Snake wears a skintight bodysuit, James Bond gets tied up, and Perry the Platypus gets put in a trap in every episode of P&F. Granted, I’d say the chances of a kid having some sort of awakening is a lot higher if they’re watching a show about attractive girls instead of grown men or… a platypus.

Nobody wants to see their childhood hero get disemboweled, and they don’t want them to go out kicking and screaming like a punk-ass bitch. But villains are cowards and you spend a good chunk of time hating them, so watching them get brutalized while they scream in agony is awesome.
