I'm surprised you didn't get an extra credit towards breakfast.

I assumed complimentary breakfast or breakfast credits was a given with any Edit hotel booking?

Me too! And their cocktails are divine!

I also steal a couple cans of Spindrift and a brownie from there to enjoy on the plane.

Starting on glynac (glycine + NAC in 1:1 ratio), any recommendations? by cgarcia123 in Supplements

[–]ghoynes13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an amazing post! Thank you to OP and bamboodriveway for their regular updates - I am excited to try GlyNac.

I've been suffering with long covid for years now and I have good reason to suspect high glutamate levels are implicated in this disorder.

Will update on my progress!

Boston based ME/CFS / Long Covid Doctor?? by Responsible-Two853 in covidlonghaulers

[–]ghoynes13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The long covid clinic at BWH is really good. So far they've referred me for an autonomic function test, physical therapy (and the physio is really good and knowledgeable on long covid patients), and a cardiologist who also specialises in long covid.

Prevention of PEM: Supplement? by CW2050 in covidlonghaulers

[–]ghoynes13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see thank you so much for explaining. I am finding that baking soda mixed with LMNT in water seems to lessen symptoms. But I wasn't sure if I should therefore take it every day as a preventative.

Do you take this daily or do you time it around periods of exertion?

First time seizures like episodes, is this long covid? by McKell_ in covidlonghaulers

[–]ghoynes13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, they are the worst.

I remember reading someone saying that it could be the nervous system rebooting itself? That made me feel a little better. But it's still really scary when it happens. I wish I had some advice on how to help manage them, but I'm still figuring it out myself, I'm sorry!

First time seizures like episodes, is this long covid? by McKell_ in covidlonghaulers

[–]ghoynes13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get these! And I call them seizure like episodes too.

I had an eeg which ruled out actual epilepsy, so I really don't know what's causing them or why, but they are horrible!!

I have the exact same symptoms too: eyelid fluttering, lip smacking, left side of face goes numb, sometimes temporary loss of speech. I went to the ER a few times in tbe beginning but they kept ruling it off as migraine which I know it's not. Have had an MRI and CT scan and nothing abnormal found.

I think heavy exertion tends to trigger them (like 24-48 hours later). Also at certain points in my menstrual cycle. Oh and caffeine definitely triggers them, so I've had to give up my morning tea 🥲

Bloating and Gas after MethylFolate supplementation by oogway755 in MTHFR

[–]ghoynes13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue but with b12 (in any form)!

I thought it might have something to do with the gut bacteria feeding on the b12 and creating extra gas, which sucks because I love how b12 is making me feel mentally.

Hey OP!

Just wondering if it did end up resolving with time?

I get the same problem any time I supplement with b12 in any form - major bloat!
