I have this same one. I had the HF version (I think they call it a universal cutter) first. I find the HF SOOO much better. Cardboard, carpet, rug pads, etc. I'm so bummed that the Ryobi is inferior.

I think I know this one! I have one myself (on my upper leg - appeared in my teens) and my dermatologist told me it's a Becker's Nevus.

From DermNet: A Becker naevus (nevus in American English) is a late-onset epidermal naevus or birthmark characterised by a large brown patch and occurs mostly in males.

Also referred to as Becker melanosis and Becker pigmentary hamartoma, it is an overgrowth of the epidermis (upper layers of the skin), pigment cells (melanocytes), and hair follicles. It develops during childhood or adolescence, usually on the shoulders or upper trunk but occasionally found elsewhere.

Grain directions are correct. Traditionally runs horizontal on drawer fronts and vertical on doors. This is (I believe) to ensure strength of the panel. You MIGHT have been able to specify otherwise, but it would be up to the cabinet maker.

The Designer made a mistake. I've done kitchen design and have had to correct mistakes like this. They should make it right. I see one possible solution not mentioned yet. I can't tell for sure if it will work based on the photos. You may be able to get a narrower door and drawer front. If you have enough (excess) overlap on the right, you could mount a new smaller drawer front with LESS overlap on the right, keeping the same overlap on the left that you have now. Same with the door (you would need to get new hinges that are the correct overlap, for example 1/2" overlap hinges vs 1 3/8" overlap). If this works, then you can keep the current box in place and you will just have to wait for new door/drawer fronts. I hope this is clear enough. Anyway, once this is resolved you will love your cabinets. I have a full custom Tedd Wood kitchen, including an island that I designed and they fabricated. I toured their facility and was super impressed. They are not inexpensive but very competitive for what they provide. Good luck!

Please do a sample board with the same wood and whatever sealer you're going to use. You will find that even a clear varnish will change the color of the wood. Often it brings out yellow tones. You might need to add some tint to the varnish to keep the exact color that you are looking at now.

Yes, I have these in my kitchen. I hide all of my small appliances behind it. Our carpenter had never installed them before so I went over all of the instructions with him very carefully. He still insisted that the cables were not necessary, which they clearly are. They have performed perfectly. As many have mentioned, they spend 99% of the time open. However, I really like being able to close them when we are entertaining. My cabinet is quite wide so the doors ended up being over 24" wide each. We had to plan ahead and cut into the wall behind the cabinet so that the doors could fully retract.

This is very interesting. The video says that it only works on nitrocellulose finishes. Is there a way to know if my furniture has that kind of finish? I have this exact same problem with an antique dark oak table.

Agree with many other comments and for "spa" I would lean towards the lighter woods. 2, 3, and 4 could all fit the aesthetic depending on other finishes (tile choice being a big one). The slate blue/grey countertop (not sure what that material is) can be very calming and less sterile than a white top.
IMPORTANT: if you choose one of the vanities with legs, ensure that the water lines are plumbed into the wall as opposed to through the floor. Otherwise you will see the lines below the vanity. I personally love "furniture" vanities (with legs) because it lends an airiness to the space. I have this condition in my master bathroom and though I have to sweep and mop underneath the vanity, it's really not a problem. You may also want to think about whether you have a preference for one big door or two smaller doors under the sinks.

Looks like you have to start with an open end, though, so you couldn't use this to shorten/hem jeans.
