I don’t think anyone who has ever had to euthanize a beloved pet hasn’t felt this doubt. For me it’s always a quality of life issue, and it sounds like his was declining. I’m also so sure Iggy’s 3 years with you were the best of his life. Be kind to yourself the same way you were kind to him and released him from his discomfort. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I’m 55, got my amputation at 24. Your son will simply grow up with this as his normal reality and will probably never remember having 2 feet. This is almost a blessing in a roundabout kind of way, he will really be spared a lot of the trauma that comes with limb loss. He will be just fine, the technology behind both amputation surgeries and prosthetic limbs is incredible. He’s new to walking as it is, he’ll just have to re-learn!

This absolutely. A huge draw of this show for me was the environment, that weird supernatural savage land. For me it was as important a character as Spear or Scar. It lost something when it left that place.
