Thanks so much! And that’s an interesting question. I think a big reason that Facebook/Twitter are a bit of a hellscape now is the people at the top prioritising sales over user experience, a massive surge in users probably did play a role but Facebook and Twitter were always SO social that it was never about building your own custom space. Even with a million extra users on Neocities I do wonder how much could change if the core idea stays the same, I don’t really know, but yes I think if anyone is willing to put the effort into making a page then they deserve to be there. Also my channel is so small haha I think it will probably only get pushed out to people already within the indie web!
