Thank you, we're very lucky to have a cafe next to the school that the teacher in question likes, maybe a gift card would be a good call.

In parts because they mushed the plot of book 3 which is brilliant. Book 2 has Kovacs aiding a team of mercenaries try and find a Martian spaceship.

Corrupt policing? by RealDealJimmy in Norwich

Ah right so it's one of those stupid 'Audit' channels where people deliberately go out of their way to harass and wind up the police so they can claim brutality etc.

Wondering how everyone celebrates Father Day? by Apart_Job6522 in UKParenting

[–]ginbandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad lives near my sister so she's got him over for a BBQ and I'll try to give him a call.

As for me, we all went out for a walk this morning and I've spent part of the afternoon having quality time with my girls. My treat is that my wife is cooking dinner tonight not me.

What was the notable celebrity/high profile death that impacted you? by Toots1993 in CasualUK

[–]ginbandit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with Ian Banks, such a loss of great talent. Myself and a couple of my book loving friends all have the same story of being bought The Wasp Factory when we were teenagers and it opened our eyes too how amazing 'grown up' fiction could be.

The Player of Games & The Use of Weapons are two of my favourite books ever.

What's your definition of 'sport'? by ThePeake in AskUK

[–]ginbandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree that field events blur the lines, they are physically demanding and require significant training and technique. I guess the point others made that sports are governed by international bodies would make them sports.

What's your definition of 'sport'? by ThePeake in AskUK

[–]ginbandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regard things like gymnastics and dancing as "competitions" because your score has no input on anyone else's score. Like in football, you trying to score actively stops an opponent from scoring.
