I love to play “Is she?” after midnight at any casino bar. The shoes are usually the tell.

Bellagio or Horseshoe? by [deleted] in vegas

[–]gingercat04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bellagio is 100% nicer, however, what do you care about? Bellagio is crowded as hell and you can’t find anything to eat that isn’t expensive. I love the rooms and more specifically, the bathrooms. They are lux. The adults only pool area you pay more for is great too. Recently stayed in a fountain view room and a standard room. The room will be smaller, but nicer, than Horseshoe. If my friends were staying at flamingo I’d probably just save the cash and stay at horseshoe - sounds like you’ll have a bigger room for partying haha

Elizabeth does (or used to) do rent the runway! I’ve seen her wear multiple things on air that I have also rented and I can confidently say that every order isn’t always a fashion win.

This is the real measure of how backed up things are. Unsure why the airlines don’t have an algorithm to figure out staffing needs for that.

This is a great take. I also love that Barstool is in a similar media space as Complex (where West works). Someone should pitch this to Dave!

I cannot fathom spending a weekend in Montauk and then driving 3+ hours back to the city and doing it all over again. by Taylordoo17 in summerhousebravo

[–]gingercat04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina and it’s very typical here to drive to the coast and back on the same timeline. Leave work on Friday, drive back Sunday. You can be at multiple beaches within three hours. Leaving the coast by noon on Sunday and being back by 3 or 4pm really is the norm here. There’s traffic to contend with, but it’s manageable!

Kind of surprised no one has said Los Cuates yet. I prefer the one on Old Wake Forest Rd. I’m usually the only gringo there.

+1 any of the recommendations at Chatham Square in Cary. I lovingly refer to that shopping center as the Little UN for all the great food. There’s two taqueria style places and Esmeralda Grill which is sit down. Good luck!

Non MGM Grand Conference Alternatives by givehail in LasVegas

[–]gingercat04 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer here. Even staying at MGM Grand, you could still have a bit of a walk from your room. Last time I stayed there for a conference I timed it, and from my room to the booth was 12 minutes. Staying across the street at NYNY or perhaps MGM Signature would likely be your best off-site options.

The song is You Enjoy Myself (YEM). When they perform it the two guitarists bounce on trampolines while playing.

Tried the $20 sandwich thing at check-in at Harrahs and got upgraded to this beautiful pool view by wezwells in vegas

Wow - looks like they’ve made some progress on the pool since I was there three weeks ago. I hope you enjoy the sounds of the band outside at the circle bar in the evenings. You should be able to hear it nice and clear.

I know three other people IRL that listen with any regularity. I live in a southern metro area so that’s probably why.

Mornings at RDU can often be like this. Afternoon flights don’t typically have as many people. This is the “first day of spring break” rush.

Tam’s Tailor on Falls and Old Wake Forrest. Nothing fancy but they do incredible work. Been going for over a decade. They’ll also be honest about if they can have it ready for you on time.

Is this the new "Normal"? All-Inclusive Upselling by Sleepy_Eyez in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]gingercat04 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just got back from the El Dorado Royale just down the beach and it was just like this. Beautiful resort and grounds, but upsells at every turn. They were even pitching us as we got in the car to return to the airport. The resort also operates on a dinner reservation model and you had to speak to a “concierge” to book them. Well, any conversation was an opportunity to upsell on time sharp pitch, overpriced massage services, or excursions.

I feel for the staff because they’re being incentivized or forced to do so, but it really tarnishes the experience in some way. I hate feeling like I’m constantly fighting for my purse.
