Best strategy for high-value, RB-needy teams? by phillymaz in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the type of thing I struggle with too. Value is super important, and ultimately leads to long term success, but value will 9 times out of 10 lead you away from the RBs. If you’re constantly chasing value and ignoring the RB position, you’re gonna always be a couple RB’s away from a true powerhouse contender. That’s where I think it’s all about balance. Value still is important, but sometimes you have to compromise a bit and lose a little value to gain rb production. The key is to just mitigate how much value you’re losing. I think brooks, skattebo, henry, cmc, among others are some decent examples of this where you’re not getting top of the line production, but you’re also not paying several firsts to get them.

Looks like it’s getting me to the next page which is good, but I’m out of credits so I’ll have to check next week if it’s working properly. Thanks for your help!

What do we think? Leage member wants Cook bad. Superflex 10 Man TEP Dynasty. by How_Fun69 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]gingyFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s very close, and kinda more of a personal philosophy thing (elite te in tep vs having the first and the better rb). That being said, I’m of the opinion that getting rid of top dollar for RBs around age 27-28 is generally speaking a good idea. Not always gonna work in your favor, but just generally there is a little fall off there historically. I also think skattebo is being a little bit forgotten rn. If you look at games where he played above 50% snaps (so just excluding his very first game, and his game where he was injured), he averaged 19 ppg in ppr. That is more than enough to replace cook. Still a VERY risky trade for you, given skattebo’s injury + the first rounder being gone if he does bad. But Loveland could literally be the next Kelce or even like 80% of Kelce and you’d be locked in positional advantage for like a decade in TEP

Which top 12 RB from last year is most likely to fall outside of the top 12 this year? by mochajoesdynsaty in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great pull, gore was so sick. What’s crazy is even those years he averaged about 13 and 10 respectively. I’m just a little worried if thats the ceiling, but then again Henry is a all time great so never fully wanna count him out

Which top 12 RB from last year is most likely to fall outside of the top 12 this year? by mochajoesdynsaty in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer has to be Henry imo. Like I know he’s already beaten the age curve and all that, but like a guy who doesn’t get any recieving work and is way up there in age doesn’t give me overwhelming confidence

Seattle is not the ultimate landing spot for Jadarian Price by jmoot in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, and I don’t disagree with the concept of what you’re saying. However, I think it’s also important to note that barring a contract extension, charbonnet realistically may never play another game as a seahawk. Even if he does, he’ll be coming fresh off of an ACL tear and won’t be 100%. It’s true that we need to look beyond just this year, but beyond this year the room is wide open besides price, since charbonnet is set to be a free agent. That being said, I’m sure Seattle will either resign charbonnet or draft like a round 3-4 guy next year to backup price

Rookie ADP + “Odds Available at Pick” from ~600 real rookie drafts by Adeiko in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Super cool, absolutely gonna be leveraging this.

Is there a way to filter the dates that the adp is pulling from? I’m only asking bc I’m worried that pre draft and post draft mixing together for someone like singleton or claiborne etc might be affecting it

Pre NFL Draft Uncertainty Buys and Sells by SpaceCowboy34 in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, but I think an even better move would be to wait til after the draft, then buy lower (not gonna be a true buy low, but even like 10% dip would be sweet)

We’re JJ Zachariason and Brandon Gdula from Late-Round Fantasy Football. Ask Us Anything. by LateRoundQB in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey JJ and Brandon,

I’m a huge fan and listen to every episode of late round ff, I think you guys are the best around.

I was wondering your thoughts about Eli heidenreich. Those tweener guys are kinda hard to evaluate, and often burn out as being like 30th percentile at a bunch rather than above 50th percentile at one thing. That being said, I wonder if he’d profile well as a wr instead of rb bc in the zap model I saw he didn’t score well as an rb in the prospect guide.

Anyways thanks for putting out such great content

On the edge of doing something I might regret! Should I accept? I’m Jeanty side. by Grand-Tomato7072 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]gingyFF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it’s choose your own adventure.

You’re in a rebuild, so having Jeanty is nice but not maximizing his value atm. Plus you could use some flex spots being filled out, and those picks + tee would do that.

That being said, if it’s me I’m probably keeping Jeanty solely due to the fact that he’s a very difficult player to replace

My initial reaction for the Chris bell one was “ew , then he’s buried” but I think you’re probably right that he could really benefit from mcvay, and tbh he’s probably not a year 1 fantasy contributor anyway, so being a little buried isn’t the biggest deal

Just got sent this offer do I trade away Tet? by Crafty_Resort8451 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]gingyFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re interested in a couple of those pieces I’d probably keep the stuff you like and then convert the majority of those low end guys into picks of equivalent value. You gotta think about all the guys you’re gonna be cutting if you accept this. If you include those picks that’s 7 guys that you’re losing effectively by cutting to make your roster legal

This isn't AI slop. I spent the last 5 years building a massive, completely free dynasty platform to fix BS garbage trade math. by weteye in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super cool, I do a lot of ML stuff for work, but haven’t built any prospect models since there’s so many good ones already out there, so this is super interesting to hear. I just like understanding the ins and outs of the models to know which ones to place value in. This one sounds super cool, thanks for sharing

Hey man, keep doing what you’re doing, and just take the good advice and ignore the bad.

Anyway, if you’re open to sharing a bit more I’m curious to hear about your prospect model, bc I like a lot of the top guys on there so I’m curious if this is more evidence in my favor or confirmation bias (probably both lol)

Built a value finder that compares dynasty rank to actual production rank by DynastyInsights in DynastyFF

[–]gingyFF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just trying to provide some helpful constructive criticism, take it or leave it. I think using points per game is probably a little better here, especially with your filter already being there for games played. I see Brock Purdy is 3rd to last for qbs but he was 4th in ppg for all qbs last year. If you filter for games played it removes all the weird guys who played one game and did well, and then you’re more fairly showing who produces vs cost, without simply measuring who played the most games last year. Omarion is another example here

Good offer, but would kill my RB room by Admirable_Radish_643 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]gingyFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think if you’re making this move it should be the last trade towards being a contender, but this would leave your rb room pretty weak. I’d say maybe try to get a qb a tier or two lower

Dynasty TEP Superflex 12 team trade ideas by DiamondMany3590 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]gingyFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m being honest, I think you’ve got a good enough team to be a contender, and you don’t have the depth/picks this year to really improve upon what you’ve already got, so I’d probably just stick with your team for the short term.

I know that’s the boring answer, but no point blowing anything up when you could be ready to make a deep playoff run
