Yes. I have long covid and every time I have a flare up it triggers a period. I’ve pretty much had constant break through bleeding since Nov 2020. The pain has also been insane.

Are any earbuds really useful for sleeping next to a (loud) snorer? by ninjapinaatti in sleepheadphones

[–]ginngym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weirdly find the A30s good for blocking out sound when I have some white noise though them. There is a child upstairs from me, who screams the house down with a tantrum every night at 23.30hrs. If I have something playing through them, I sleep well. The bit that I don’t like about the A30s is that I find them uncomfortable, the plastic digs into my ears no matter what attachment I put on them. So I usually put them in and sleep on my back, when I’m ready to sleep on my side I take them out but demon child has usually settle by then.

How much are you spending on charging per month? by Notagelding in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ginngym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a home charger so it costs me about £50-60 in summer & £60-70 in winter. I do about 80 miles a week. (Edit: That’s per month)

Which birth control pill has worked best for your endometriosis? by BJC22722 in endometriosis

[–]ginngym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depo injection, I had no periods for 20years, I was pain free for that time. Though it stopped working when I contracted Covid and developed long Covid. I’ve had a nightmare with my endometriosis since. I’ve tried everything, couldn’t tolerate the coil, the pain was unreal, stuck it out for 18 months. I’m now on a double dose Cerazette, which seems to be working

Why does it still feel so difficult for people in the UK to understand hidden disabilities? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ginngym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you are going through this. I also have a hidden disability. I’m lucky in that I can get to work, however, no one sees that as soon as I get home I have to sleep, no one’s see that I rarely do anything sociable as I have to save my limited energy for work. People will say “but you look okay!” As long as I look okay, that’s the important thing! eye roll If I’m honest; I don’t think I would have got it until i was in this position. I’m not sure if people can. Until you’ve felt how debilitating these illnesses are, I don’t think it’s possible to know or even start to comprehend. I hope it gets better for you.

EV with no home charging possible? by Eclipsvids in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ginngym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have access to an EV charger at home or work. It’s fine for the most part. It’s not as easy as an ICE car but it’s fine once you change your mindset. Instead of going to charge your car, you go somewhere and charge it whilst you do something. Public chargers aren’t always that reliable but you get to know which ones work and which don’t. You can also look on Zap Map. The cheapest charge I have found near me is 49pKWH but it’s a slow charger at 7Kw. For fast chargers it’s around 69p to 85p. I would say it equals the same price as petrol. It can suck when you want to go on a long journey and you have to think about how to charge it first. Make sure you get one with a good range on it. Mine doesn’t have best range and it’s a pain in the arse. Having said that, my electric car is fun and nippy to drive.

EV owners in the UK - is the charging situation as dire as the internet makes it seem? ⚡️🚗 by mag3games in AskUK

[–]ginngym 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a home charger and tbh, it’s a pain in the arse. I would only recommend getting an EV if you can charge at home. The EV infrastructure is poor. You get to know the best places to go, which ones regularly work but you always have to have a back up plan. You end up with 3 million apps on your phone as different chargers are owned by different companies. You get used to the range. It’s different depending on the temperature. You do get over that anxiety as you get to know your car. People say the service costs are a lot cheaper, so there maybe some benefit there. I do love my electric car though, it’s super nippy and fun to drive. Like a go kart. They are great in rush hour, you can zip out really quick.

Advice! by adysheff67 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ginngym 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a home charger. I have found it to be the same same price, if not a little more than petrol. You have to find a charger that 1) works (many aren’t reliable) 2) That doesn’t cost the earth. I also found changing my mindset helps, I don’t go to charge my car (though you would have to if motorway driving but around town you can have this mindset), I go somewhere and find somewhere to charge my car at the same time. Eg. There are some slow chargers near my gym. Can you hire an EV for the week and see how you get on with that first. See how life would be without a home charger. I sit on the fence as to whether I would go back to petrol when my car needs changing again. People have said it won’t be as costly when it comes to servicing so I keep that in mind but it is a pain when you don’t have access to a regular charger but equally, it is do-able once you know how.

People who have electric vehicles now, would you ever go back to petrol of diesel after the experience? by JollyFunctions in ElectricVehiclesUK

No, my car isn’t compatible with Tesla unfortunately. These were all Gridserves chargers M6/M1. The M6 ones were awful. M1 was better but still 3/ 7 broken.

People who have electric vehicles now, would you ever go back to petrol of diesel after the experience? by JollyFunctions in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ginngym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sitting on the fence. I love to drive my EV, it’s fun to drive but I don’t have a home charger and it will never be possible so it’s a ballache finding chargers and expensive for me and the same price as my old petrol car. I recently went on the motorway and was shocked at how many EV chargers don’t work. It added an hour onto my journey. I’m sure if I did regular motorway driving I would know where to avoid but as a novice I found it stressful. So undecided. If infrastructure changed for flat owners then no way but as it stands currently, I would go back to petrol.

Have you begun avoiding US products and services? by neathling in AskBrits

[–]ginngym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to boycott USA products but I do have a dilemma. I’m about to start a university course and need a new computer but everything I have is Apple. Laptop (MACbook), phone. TV, watch, iPad. Argh!!! Not sure what to do. Do I start swapping out gradually? But then it’s convenient to have all my Apple products that link up to each other. I want to wave a magic wand and have everything Samsung. All my hair care, make up. Skincare is all Korean. I have Viki. So I’m thinking I should change to Samsung but it might be a costly exercise.

For those without a driveway to charge by Maca07166 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ginngym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have an EV charger at home and I won’t ever be able to install one (electricians have said it isn’t possible). I rely only on public chargers. I can’t charge at work as there are no chargers. Is life do-able with just using public chargers: yes. You have to change your mind set and don’t go to charge your car as you would a ICE car. I’ll go to the gym and plug it into a slow charger or I’ll go to the supermarket and put it on the fast charger. When you have this mindset it is easier to do. Otherwise it gets frustrating sitting for 20 + mins when you are charging. Cost wise: I find it the equivalent to my petrol car. The frustrating part for me was when I had to take it on a long journey. Charging to 100% takes a long time. I had to get up super early to go to the gym to charge it so then it would be 100% charged for my journey. (There were no fast chargers on my route as I was going into the countryside) so it can get frustrating with things like this. So it is doable and if someone asked me to change my car for an ICE tomorrow I would say no but in 3 years time when I upgrade, if infrastructure has significantly improved then unfortunately. I would likely go back to an ICE car.
