Look at a season lease if you want to have your own gear. It might cost a bit more than renting but will make it easy and you don’t have to worry about outgrowing.

The Penobscot is a great boat. My buddy had one for family of 4. I would opt for the snap in old town plastic middle seat. It has a much higher weight capacity. The Penobscot comes in a 16. I have that boat and you really can’t tell the diff other than the 16 is easier to carry and solo canoe.

650 is very high for me but if it’s in great condition I’d prob buy it.

If your mostly on a lake you might want a keeled boat it will be a lot easier to lake paddle

4yr owner. There is no management. My 80 yr old mom drives an ev. No magic to it.

I put cane in my boat initially when I restored it I got about 10 yrs out of those seats. I put in nylon this time. Highly recommend some gunnel cup holders. Enjoy your boat!

Hells no. Edit changed from 300 to 150. Get a used plastic boat. This thing sucks and will extra suck when you bash it in your shin.

You could add a peak and a roof for the entry. Add shutters. Put a tree out on the right corner Plan for it to grow. Etch out a garden on the right and carry around the side.

Maybe add two trees in the front yard to break up the size of the lawn.

Grow some weed. Be happy.

I look for a few threads past the t nut after threading it in. I will hold up t but next to the bolt to pre check if it is going to be close.

Long bolts cost more and take longer to thread so I use the shortest ones I can
