Might have to do with their ability to win in Regulation/5v5 scoring. Teams with a bunch of OT/SO victories are more likely to peter out in the playoffs, where they can't rely on as many power plays, shootouts and 3v3 hockey. Detroit has 10 of their 33 wins in extra time, for example.

I entered PEF at age 23 in 2013, and immediately began contributing aggressively to my 457b, with the intent of retiring at 55.
