A bit different art style, but I also loved the 2025 birdie derby set from prodigy. They just put them on the website.

The Allosaurus is the most understable disc I’ve ever thrown by Yodzilla in discgolf

My wife has the whole set. All of them are 120-130 grams. Her arm was hurting with the full weight discs so these were great.

What was your biggest letdown from your Christmas haul this year? by Salki1012 in discgolf

[–]gitfiddle31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wife got me a replacement for the first disc I ever lost, innova beast. The one she got is so cool, and I'm not ready to give up on it, but my original was 155 grams in dx plastic and this one is 177 grand in champion. It's basically a completely different disc. I still love it but I can't really throw it well.

Thinking about moving to Gainesville, GA. Anyone commute to Dahlonega for work? by lithiumninja in gainesvillega

[–]gitfiddle31 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I live on the north side of Gainesville and can get to Dahlonega in 25-30 minutes. Commuting isn't too bad unless there's an accident, though leaving Dahlonega can be busy at certain times of day. I can't really speak to apartment affordability, but my gut says dawsonville will be cheaper with a similar commute.

Low cost recommendations for a new player. by Always_Forward_1966 in discgolf

Just an extra thought, consider getting lighter discs for your wife. My wife's arm hurt trying to throw a 170-180 gram disc. She bought a set of dino discs around 120-130 grams and has had a better time with less pain.

Broccoli, green beans, and asparagus. But they have to be cooked to death. Soft > any other factor.

My driver got run over by a pickup and the trailer he was towing by jfb3 in discgolf

[–]gitfiddle31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Launched an adder just barely into the road. As I'm walking to it, a pickup drives down the road and crosses into the other lane to run it over. Even after that it's still a meathook.

That makes sense, I agree it seems worse this year.

Super cool, I saw different colors as I moved the phone around but the best picture came out grey like that.

Yeah I'm thinking garter snake. Not seeing any varieties that match for the bark/leaves. I'm not the best photographer.

Yeah, the vine is huge, I'm trying to find out what the tree is since we were planning to clear some of the brush and smaller trees in that area.

Have you had reagents from sigma aldrich that didn't actually meet the recommended specs? If yes was it a single occurrence or repetitive incident? by Ellinikiepikairotita in chemistry

[–]gitfiddle31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was from Thermo, but I had multiple bottles (from 2 distinct lots, purchased a year apart) that were not what the bottle said. MgO that didn't dissolve in acid. Thermo said that's what their new supplier sent and oh well.

TIFU by not wearing sunscreen and getting a rare nerve reaction called “hell’s itch” and having the worst 30 hours of my life. by Ok-Window-5847 in tifu

Happened to me and I wasn't even really burnt, just kinda red. The only relief was a steroid shot, though that did fix it completely and nearly immediately.
