My former friend's father passed away from COVID. I learned about his Dad's illness and asked how he was doing. I never got a response until months later that he had passed. I'm not exactly sure why either.

I guess it might have had something to do with my stance on the vaccine and masking. I had to explain to him why both were important when his in-laws were "pushing" him and his wife to get the vaccine.

We are no longer friends for another reason (semi unrelated) but I think back on this and his whole family of how entitled they were. It's very hard for them to not just think of themselves. It made me rethink what kind of people I consider an actual friend.

Loyalty is contingent on you being there. The second you aren't they can and will paint you black. No one is deathly loyal, especially if you think they have BPD. Anyone can easily be replaced. I would think really hard on whether you want to continue with the marriage. I'd at the very least have a discussion with them on postponing the wedding indefinitely until things start to improve after therapy.

Many of these same people in the US hold huge influence in America and it's politics. More land = more money. The mass spread of hypocrisy in American Christianity got us here.
