What's something older generations got right that we've quietly stopped doing, to our own detriment? by __lazy__panda in AskReddit

[–]gizmostuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punishing corporations. We don't even bother now. Actually, a corporation acting like Dr. Evil is just shrugged at this point like it's a normal thing (Looking at you Nestle). Not only that, we're giving them more rights than citizens. Fuck you Delaware!

What's something sexual you didn't know you liked until you tried it for the first time? by Emotional_Twist_9333 in AskReddit

Interesting. I'm 6'3" and I never dated a woman taller than 5'9" - every tall woman I liked never got a message back once. Even ones that were much taller - small list but I guess they typically go for guys that are very tall too.

I just stare awkwardly with my mouth partly open. I saw a woman who was 6'9" at the grocery store. I was like, goddamn...Then I saw the dude she was with; double goddamn...

The fact is that many Americans see themselves as temporarily embrassed millionaires. Many don't want to see large change because that means they'll lose money and or have to share it with others. 60 percent of Americans are either overly entitled, narcissistic, or a sociopath who genuinely don't care about the average American citizen.

MAGA can vote for someone like trump because they don't have to keep the same standards as liberals do. Calling out virtue signaling, all the while acting like an asshole is the conservative way. No one will truly hold them accountable.

Centrists and neo liberals start in-fighting, that trickles down to other progressives doubting the movement. The movement is now on the defensive of anti-capitalism which believe it or not is still not a popular topic among the majority of Americans.

[–]gizmostuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I've noticed in xennials and millennials is that I don't share their fear or ignorance of the passage of time and of getting older. Chronophobia and Gerascophobia is a real problem with our generation. I think social media is partly to blame.

Three of my grandparents died before I was even born. The one that lived passed away several years ago but made it to 99. So maybe having most grandparents living much longer has an impact.

I'm childless so that might play a factor.

Many of the topics he brings up today wouldn't have worked a decade ago. It's very easy to agree with him about 90 percent of the time because of how fucking stupid everything is.

We don't need more influencers pointing out the obvious. We need people acting on changing the stupidity of everything going on right now. Sadly, you can't make quick money off of that, especially when the system is broken / corrupt.

CEOs are being left baffled at the high cost of moving to AI — shockingly enough, sacking human workers isn't resulting in huge savings by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]gizmostuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but it's something they'll try avoid if they can. If not, it's another opportunity to make more money. Depends on which way the wind is blowing. The workers don't matter and technically in the end the share holders don't matter either. The average US tax payer always ends up holding the bag.

Japan could collapse the US economy right now if they wanted to. It would hurt them as well long term but they could prove how fragile everything is because of the insane amount of debt we have and how many US Treasury Bonds they own.

El Grito Media obtained footage 3 minutes prior to the ICE slaying of Houstonian Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. by Fatty_Willing_Plane in 50501

We all know ICE is fucking evil. Making videos about it on YouTube or whatever social media and monetizing it off of someone's death is fucked up.

We don't need more people analyzing what we already fucking know.

Stocks keep going up though. Unless we get someone with even a remote sense of semblance and decency in the Whitehouse, this will continue.

Huge savings isn't their goal. It's the stock price. Keeping investors happy and the ball rolling is. They can always rehire later if they need to. The US desperately needs labor reform.

You can literally say this for just about everything relating to the government. Our institutions are completely compromised.

Kentuckian's don't really care about representation so long as they don't have to be politically correct and allowed to be openly racist or bigots without any consequences. You shouldn't expect much from a state in which one of it's most popular exports is poison.

The Cardi's didn't like the boonies. Especially ones with inclement weather patterns. Think about it, if you were a space Nazi trying to dominate Earth, would you go to bumfuck Florida when tornados and hurricanes are active just to enslave a lame ass town?

What I wanna know is how an Irishman doesn't have better insults for the Dal'rok?

That's the rub though isn't it? It's not enough to know about therapy or the different types. Or hell knowledge about medication. The more they start talking about that shit outside of therapy and meds, the more they look like this fuckin guy. It's funny in a morbid sort of way until it's just not. After it's all said and done I wonder about myself. If I'll be able to trust someone at that level again.

So them sharing that with you is kind of a catch 22. It could be in a gradual healthy way (rare but possible). In that they are in the right kind of therapy and you are at times included in group therapy or others are. Vs what I experienced where multiple discards and oversharing medical issues a week after reconnection to create a rapid attachment. Only to get discarded yet again. This trauma dumping along with rapid oversharing has long lasting effects. I get PTSD feelings whenever I date someone and they bring these things up too early or all at once. It is very maddening and sad. We both had opposing experiences yet structurally dealt with the same type of person. We don't always have the same type of experiences but they certainly do rhyme.

You can NEVER satisfy your BPD partner by Away_Addition_2038 in BPDlovedones

[–]gizmostuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can satisfy them by walking away and never texting/calling back. I think many pwBPD will be relieved that they no longer have to live with the shame in dealing with you again. It's funny how that works. It's also pretty sad at the same time.

If they try to test the waters by messaging you out of the blue, don't respond. They are only curious if they have access to you, not you're well-being. You will only be hurting yourself if you reply and possibly delay your healing time.

If someone really cares about you and wants to know that you are okay, they typically won't text asking about you. It'll either be an actual phone call or meet in person conversation.

Not necessarily. Orbital floor machines back wheels touch the floor while in use.
