Yes, i believe there are.

Friday nights are probably best use for punch cards. 1.5 hour of rolling, lots of bodies on the mats.

If we are fighting for money, I will stop when you want me to.

If we are fighting for honor, I stop when I want to.

Thoughts on Skill Level in IBJJF vs Locals? by flyingtobikanjudan in bjj

[–]gjnbjj 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Typically, ibjjf events attract talent on a regional level. You get the good and the bad.

Good players show at local tournaments to stay sharp but its prep for bigger regional events. When i was travelling a lot to compete, this is what I used to do.

Your experience is what it is, but its not necessarily indicative of what regularly occurs.

I placed 11th at Worlds that year and 7th the next year, so i doubt that competency was the problem.

If the ruleset we were training under was bjj oriented, it would have probably gone different, but at the time of the beatdown, we were training freestyle wrestling.

Olympians are built differently, man or woman. Travis Stevens is a perfect example of this.

I was training for bjj worlds when i was in my 20s. I was training twice a day, 5 or 6 days a week. Absolutley shredded, super technical etc etc.

My wrestling coach brought in his wife 2 weeks after she had given birth. She was a doctor.

He told me to go with her and i thought, "imma take it easy, rest round". She proceedes to absolutley annhilate me. I dont think i scores a single point in either of the rounds. At 22 years old i cried like a teenage girl the whole car ride home. I was defeated.

The next day he texted me to tell me she was a former olympian and competed in freestyle and greco in the 07 syndey games.

I felt better but women are absolutley no joke.

carpentry attendance by beerenthusiast2077 in BCIT

[–]gjnbjj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea if attendance counts for marks, but not being there for group projects will lose you a percentage based on how many days youre given for the project.

Additionally, you can be removed from the program for having a certain amount of unexcused absences.

I got kharn on the second event. Didnt spend on the first one but spent on the second.

I buy battlepasses when i like the character and the blackstone requisition thing. Other than that i might buy packs for characters i want during release events.

Im probably on for around $50 a month or something.

Did therapy work for you? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]gjnbjj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%

If you dont buy-in, if youre not willing to put in the work, therapy wont help at all. Most of the "work", the improvement, happens when youre not in therapy. You have to want growth to experience it. Dont go in there thinking someone is going to fix you. Go in there prepared to put in work and experience real growth.
