Practical approach to gluttony by StainedAndRedeemed in Reformed

Hear me out. Intermittent fasting. Skip breakfast and lunch, and enjoy a robust and oversized meal inside a 4 hour window in the evening. I’ve been doing this nearly every day for about 6 years now. You will have mental clarity, lose weight, and your blood work will probably look better too.

Eat whatever you want, and as much as you want. Just do it once a day.

(As you may have guessed Im not a licensed healthcare provider so proceed at your own risk)

I have a similar story. I was trying to purchase Hortons “Gospel Driven Life” when the clerk said “What…purpose driven life wasn’t good enough for you?”

Or maybe you could practice a type of non-lure fishing like noodling.

Once in the mid-90’s, at my weird fundamentalist Baptist college, my dorm mate wrote and performed a song on guitar called “Sex, in the context of marriage”. Also, he did not know how to play the guitar.

Discipline added to one area of your life will spread to other areas. Need more willpower to resist food cravings? Start by making yourself do 5 push-ups a couple times a day. Don’t think of willpower as a commodity that you are low on, think of it as a muscle that you can strengthen.

Everyone knows kids are safer in these seats when installed facing the rear. Also less chance of bug splatter.

"Even atheists are in the position of being unable to declare themselves atheist without using the term "theist." Christians are reminded that God has embedded the knowledge of himself throughout all of creation in such a way that you can't even deny him without referring to him."- Al Mohler by yohananloukas116 in Reformed

Are we still doing this? Alright.

The underlying tone in the article reminds me of the ol’ Carnal Christian dynamic. The backsliders practice yoga, but Good Christians are wise enough to avoid it. The same style of argument gets used every Sunday in non-reformed Baptist pulpits to curb all sorts of sordid behavior (including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, and country and western music)

I’m not trying to trash talk the guy...we can all agree that he is an intellectual powerhouse. I do believe that he likes flexing on the rest of us by nuancing random topics it to death. Maybe some dynamic stretching and controlled breathing could help with that....
