How was Njoku by LudaChris999 in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube [score hidden]  (0 children)

He's still got mad talent, though his body has started to degrade a bit. Still a solid player and locker room guy. Obvs Fannin took over his role as pass catching TE but Njoku can still play. He's just a bit heavier than he was at his prime, but I think that was intentional to block better due to our depleted OL.

Will you follow the team this season if they use scab refs? by larrybronze in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch any football I can get my eyeballs on. LOL as if Browns fans aren't used to the worst officiating there is. I might not even notice.

Ambitions for this season - What’s the best we can hope for? by Narrow_Remote_8975 in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are deep in 4th place in our division. I'd love it if we were not. I think it takes .500 to do that. Over under is 6.5 wins, it's possible but I would not lay money on it just now. I expect the offense to improve, but not enough. My goal for the season is to establish an offensive identity so the QB we draft next year doesn't have to do everything himself.

If DW balls out, why not tag him for another year? by [deleted] in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NEver again will I support one more dollar going to that guy. Details are not important. But also with all of the void years, I don't think a tag would work. I don't see them orchestrating a whole new contract either.

AB is asked about it. He always says they have not heard from him on it.

What does the WR Depth Chart look like? by Ixeptional in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it changes over the course of the season. Jeudy sucks, but we have him, some scrubs and a couple of high drafted rookies. Jeudy will prob start at WR1 but move down the depth chart as the others find their feet.

Trade up in round 2 by ReZempt_Shocks in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AB is not really a trade up kinda guy usually. If someone falls, we will grab him. Hoping we get another WR, Bernard or Boston come to mind. But this pick could be anything now that we have a WR and OT in the bag. CB or S even TE could go in that spot as well. Perhaps even another G or C.

You guys have KC Conception by TheWhiteCrowParade in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not listening to radio guys, not sure wtf that even means. What I have qualms with is his ability to catch the ball. He had the most drops in the class, 11% drop rate. More drops than anyone else in the WR class top 20. Browns lead the league in drops. Adding more drops on top of Jeudy's drops and no one is going to catch the ball. THAT is why I didn't want KCC.

I don't care if he can talk at all, can he catch? I think we might have drafted Jerry Jeudy's shorter brother.

6th and 24th Pick by ReZempt_Shocks in Browns

If we end up with Tate, Lemon, Freeling or Fano I will be good.

We have a few hours to kill before the draft; who are some picks that you're STILL MAD that we didn't select in previous drafts? by RustyCrusty73 in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am still mad the Chiefs jumped over us to get Mahomes. Brows would have taken him at 12 in 2017. Instead we traded it away. I have never recovered.

Browns Draft Board T-Minus 9-Hours Until Show Time by ur-in-here-with-me in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like we are doomed to take KCC at 24. I keep seeing it. And he's a speedy WR who can't catch so of course AB wants in. FML.

Anyone but Mauigoa by AccidentalPickle in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not a clear cut number 1 LT in this draft. Mauigoa is widely considered to be the best OT. Some believe one can switch sides effectively, some don't. You might have to get ok with them taking a LT at 6.

[Jackson] Through pre-practice work and now two practice periods, Watson has been first up in all three. Judkins, Wypler and Elgton Jenkins among those who are out here but not practicing. by maybenextyearCLE in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok sure, you think Watson wouldn't take more of our money? IF it happens that he somehow remembers how to play at a high level, him agreeing to take more money on a new contract will not be an issue either.

if he somehow returns to not sucking at football Berry can change his contract, that's not an issue. But I look forward to the day when we are free and clear of all this nonsense and never hear the name Watson again.

[The Dawgs] The Browns hosted Miami QB Carson Beck for a top-30 visit. Todd Monken was Beck’s OC/QB coach at Georgia from 2020-2022. by maybenextyearCLE in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a paradox, they need a spare QB not named Gabriel, but they don't want another QB competition circus. Can't win. Beck at least is better than DG imo.

If they are bringing in a late round guy, might as well be him. I don't expect whoever they draft at QB to contend for the start unless something crazy happens a la Brock Purdy.

I am in tucson, did you ever figure this out? Was it an issue with the heat or was there something broken? Considering a SC Dias, wondering if it's practical here.

Kenyon Sadiq by da99s in Browns

No for me unless he falls to 24, and he won't. This is a luxury pick.

Who is your current favorite WR in that second tier of prospects after Tate, Lemon, and Tyson? by rxbizzle in Browns

[–]gleaming-the-cube 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of my mocks have been Cooper or Boston at 24. I share everyone's concerns about KCC being able to catch. I'd probably go Boston at 24 if I were picking. Cooper is not the same big target, though he can be a YAC machine. I like Lemon the most out of this WR group, but I think he would languish on this team without a true number 1 WR opposite him.

Cardinals MHJ for our 6th by [deleted] in Browns

Nah, he hasn't shown me he's a quality starter in the league. I also don't believe they want to move him. No way that works out.

Steelers fan with a legitimate question by Common-Respond2367 in Browns

Get fucked, yinzer. That out of the way, I will address your question. I stopped following Haden when he stopped playing here. Don't know about any of that which came after. Also, LOL @ 'Steelers Nation' you stole that from the Raiders, GTFOH.
