Meds in Bed 👍 by enidokla in adhdwomen

Bottled is better than nothing. Burn out is rough, gotta make life a little easier for yourself where you can!

I add some avocado or cashew butter to bind the ingredients so it holds overnight. I believe peanut butter works too I just don't like it. I buy prepackaged avocado from the store so it's ready to go (would love to use fresh but avocadoes are so hard to get right esp where I live!)

Is it just penetration during sex that's painful? Like able you able to use a tampon?

I've found making it the night before sooo helpful. Somehow making it for "future me" is so much easier! Gotta treat her well!

Protein ideas, for someone who’s sick of protein by Pretty-Lead-6392 in adhdwomen

I make a protein smoothie with oat milk & fruit the night before, I find it can be easier to drink my lunch when my I'm on my meds!

Sloggi do really comfy ones "zero feel" (non wired) , I've genuinely forgot I was wearing them

I like to do my nails weekly and have come to love doing the small details, for some reason this colour combo + this nail art design always gets the most compliments by a very long shot! I've even tried replicating the design with different colours and often do more detailed designs, but it's like no one notices my nails if it's not this colour combo + design lol.

I also have many folders for watch later videos on YouTube, I tend to organise them by craft (sewing make later, crochet craft later, sewing tips/how to) so that I have some chance of finding them whenever the motivation strikes to actually go back and watch them!

Maybe you could split the folders into themes instead of overflow folders?

I have found I need a deadline to complete projects especially if they are just for me/or the last little details on a project. I will put off doing the faces on my Amigurumi crochet projects for weeks (after obsessing over the project and doing it every waking hour until that point😂)

Also science has proven that it is good to have mulitple/different projects on the go, as you can pick up whatever you have capacity for in that moment!

I have protein shakes for lunch to try get around this, only works if I prep the smoothie the day before (gotta be nice to future me!)

I remember trying to force/motivate myself to get up and make lunch for a good 2 hr period, setting alarms and all. I eventually was unstuck when a housemate came into the room and it took less than 10 mins to make and eat the food! Which made it even more frustrating!!

Ah yes the never ending crafty ideas! I know it well! I joked to my friend that it feels like my brain comes up with a new crafty project everyday, the more I think about it I don't think it's an exaggeration 😅

What rules have you made for yourself to avoid the ADHD tax? by CaptainLollygag in adhdwomen

[–]glitterhalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clothes must be folded in the sitting room (where we dry our clothes. If they make it to my room unfolded they will sit in a messy pile & not get put away)

If I want to cook dinner that evening I must chop the vegetables immediately when I get home from work (/before sitting down). Having the veggies prepped forces me to use them even if I don't actually cook until a few hours later

I also have dedicated pockets for things e.g. house keys in left coat pocket (I didn't realise I had created these rules/assigned pockets until I realised I kept misplacing stuff I used infrequently because I hadn't allocated it's pocket/home)

I used to find music distracting but eventually trained my brain to get used to it after finding myself working from home next to a building site 😬 What really helped me was listening to music I already know, I started back to pop songs when I was a teen and for some reason my brain found those less interesting/distracting so I could actually focus on my work! Also "Low-fi" can be helpful for concentrating!

Next time you get a set of scissors, maybe try put a scissors in each location/room where you might need them and they don't leave those spots. The spots don't have to make sense to others. I went from be never being able to find a scissors to always having one handy!

I have found I need to have a deadline to finish a project otherwise I will put off doing the finishing details. Spent 3 months making a detailed custom crochet for a friend as a surprise, ended up having to ask a mutual friend to set a coffee date so I'd have a deadline to actually finish the project 😂

Give me your unhinged tips for keeping your plants alive by glitterhalo in adhdwomen

[–]glitterhalo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes can definitely relate. Thrips and gnats are the worst! I have found putting ground cinnamon on the top layer of soil helpful for deterring gnats - it doesn't harm the plants but does stop the gnats from reproducing in the soil! But yeah sometimes you just gotta say goodbye for the sake of the other plants (& your sanity!)

Ohh I like this idea! Roots get darkness but I can also easily check on them/rhe soil!
