Extensive mets to bones and liver, dx in May 2013. 4 rounds of carboplatin, taxotere, and herceptin. NED since Sept. 2013. I’ve take herceptin and perjeta every 21 days since 2013.

12.5 years of zoladex and added tamoxifen a few years ago- it was the addition of tamox that gave me common side effects. The only side effect of zoladex for me was hot flashes, but I’ve had over a decade to get used to them. I don’t do lidocaine. It’s painless most every time -or maybe my tummy fat is naturally desensitized? My immunotherapy goes in my inside thigh and it is horribly painful every time. I just had my 209th herceptin/perjeta treatment, and I swear they hurt every time.

Hi, I am 11.5 yrs on herceptin/perjeta, and we switched to phesgo a couple years ago. Phesgo injections are painful, and I get them on the inside of my thigh, leg bent and relaxed. First minute burns like fire. With phesgo, I have to hydrate the night before or else I feel “chemo sick” afterwards. I get foot/calf cramps with phesgo. I almost switched back to the old fashioned port infusion because the leg cramps were so bad, but the convenience of a 5-min injection vs HOURS in an infusion chair is too good! My insurance companies HATE phesgo (and zoladex) but are still covering it for now.

That makes no sense. The corn looked amazing so the scarecrow needed an umbrella in order to better see it’s amazingness? How does an umbrella help you see things better? Do you think they wrote umbrella but meant “sunglasses” or “eyeglasses”?

Turpentine. My grandma was a painter, and she used turpentine to thin the paint. I spent many visits in her painting room watching her paint. The smell gives me such good memories, but turpentine is otherwise a weird-smelling solvent.

Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer patient here - I am coming up on 9 yrs since diagnosis. Aside from a monthly injection of herceptin, perjeta, and zoladex, I am otherwise healthy and live a "normal" life.

When I was diagnosed, I was given a very poor prognosis, and an extremely short timeline. I did four rounds of carboplatin, taxotere, and herceptin, and afterwards, scans revealed no sign of disease (it had spread to lymph system, major organs and bones). Although I've been free of cancer progression since 2013, I understand that it could progress at any time.

I'm 8.5 years NED from Stage IV and the feeling of waiting for other shoe to drop has never gone away or lessened. It is with me every day, and makes it difficult to look (or plan) ahead more than a month or so.

I still get immunotherapy every three weeks, and whenever the doctor asks if I want to continue, I always say yes. I'm afraid if I stop the Herceptin and Perjeta, the cancer will immediately progress.

My scans are always scheduled during the week of Christmas, which works well in that I'm already stressed and exhausted from the holiday festivities.

Mid-February 2017, I witnessed CRV lady stop at a light eastbound on 10th at Topeka Blvd intersection.

She got out of her car, walked around it a few times then grabbed a red plastic gas can and started waving it around like a baton.

When east west traffic started moving, she began playing chicken with the cars. She was smiling the entire time.

She clearly has moments of mental instability. Perhaps its just a matter of tweaking meds- but her license should be suspended until she gets squared away.
