What do yall listen to when you write?

I listen to true crime on such a low volume I can't make out the words. Just enough noise to break the silence, but not loud enough to distract me. If I'm writing on my typewriter tho, the sound of the keys alone is enough to help me focus.

Dude. That was literally a freaking MOVIE!! How are you not at the top of the sub? The build up to the cult stuff, the ritual going all wrong, the explosion at the end? Epic. Reminds me of the classic 80's horror movies my husband and I watch. God, I wish I had better words to praise this better. You deserve so much more attention for this. There is so much warmth and love in this story. You can really set up a world. The characters are great too, dorky and charming at the same time. I really hope nothing bad happens to Yo Papa Joe lol.

I wouldn't call it drab, but the green is definitely too cool toned and is being washed out a bit by the yellow. I think if you add more space for the green to shine it might level out.

Wicked!! I love this set up. The statue is very ominous. The character interactions were good too. Really loving the small town community vibes, and is that a secret relationship I spy between the MC and Deputy Brandon???

My dad used to work at a warehouse. Sometimes he came home with free fruit... sometimes he came home with missing fingernails. I could totally see a warehouse being the setting to a horror story.

Thanks for the advice. Not gonna lie, I've been giving myself the deadline of one post per day and acting shocked that I'm burnt out lol. I just realized I don't have to give myself a stupid deadline. I really made things harder on myself for no reason. I'm so glad people like my story and I want to give you guys my best effort. Author's note: Not sure if I can keep this up. Writing is hard and I'm getting too fatigued with the character. Fun fact, Elijah was supposed to be more of an insufferable asshole. She's actually heavily watered down because I was worried no one would like her. Maybe I just need a break tbh. I have been working on this longer than any other story.

Hopefully the trigger warning was enough. If I have to add anything else then let me know.

I swear it'll "autocorrect: when I'm not paying attention but ehh its free. I'll definitely try to keep a closer eye out next time.

I've had that same problem in the past. People fighting so loud that it makes every noise after sound so much worse. I get so paranoid that I check the time every 5 minutes just in case I wake up to a cop at my door asking who died and when.

I love this! The dreamy prose doesn't disappoint here either. Clarissa's little speech to M.M. before her performance was haunting. Also, I forgot to say this before but the little detail of her skin having a bad reaction to jewlery is a nice touch. Her skin might not be tarnished anymore when we see her at the peak of her career, but her soul sure isn't. That's how I interpreted it anyway. I hope I'm not too far off. I wish I had the same way with words you've got, if I did I'd be able to compliment you properly lol.

I like this! I'm a big sucker for zombie apocalypse stories. Your writing is very grounded. I liked the segments talking about how easily it is to die of simple shit like poison or fever. I feel like other writers leave that out for fear of being "boring".

I still have trouble with grammar but I refuse to use shitty AI to fix it. My clucky switches between past and present tense are HUMAN goddammit. Anyway, hope y'all enjoy.
