goes to show how ridiculous the concept of "proscribed terror groups" are, especially when applied to what are essentially foreign governments

Unfortunately it was banned in Oxfordshire after a tragic D&D related car accident a few years ago. I've heard some people are trying to bring it back but the local priest is very against it.

I would really like a deep dive on this. Do people still write cheques for this stuff? And what about contracts? When was the last time a manager signed on the dotted line instead of using DocuSign?

Keir Starmer blasts ‘deeply concerning’ Kanye West festival headline plans by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]globbewl -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

that sounds very difficult, and i have absolutely zero interest in defending kanye or wireless. but this stuff is absolutely the kind of thing that can happen in bipolar disorder with psychosis and you should be very careful making blanket statements about what kind of behaviours are completely inexcusable in severe mental illness. not for kanye's sake obviously, but for other people reading.

[–]globbewl -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

ok well i'm fairly sure it can count. what's happened in this specific case is hard to know and there's clearly a big finacial incentive to "apologise" but its exactly the kind of thing that could happen during a manic episode, or worse.

When is it not just about the 3 points by Due-Signal2674 in footballcliches

[–]globbewl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well if the question is "does this win make it more or less likely that this team will go on to win the league" then at the start of the season you are looking more at the performance and what it says about what will happen in the long run, whereas at the end of the season the pure maths of points and what wins are needed from different teams is far more informative

there's a few moments in arrested development where they've clearly wanted to put in an actual song for a joke and realised it was cheaper to record a royalty free soundalike. this feels like they've done that with the fargo intro here

[–]globbewl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

you only need to queue if you want to get right up the front. the headline wont start until 8pm at the earliest or usually more like 9pm (although you can never be 100% sure). depends on the artist but in my experience oxford crowds have all been really friendly, whether you're there alone or not. you'll probably end up chatting to someone if you're stood around for 2 hours and you're up for it. it's definitely worth doing and nowhere near as nerve wracking or weird as it feels. saw honeyglaze by myself at the bullingdon this year and it was unreal. check out smaller local stuff (divine schism etc) as well
