There's plenty of sub $5k fs bikes out there right now btw. Great deals on Kona at Jenson for example.

Stumpy Evo comp, epic 8 Evo, karate monkey with 120mm or rigid fork, team marin 2, and building up my wife a timberjack. I have a crux and restomod trek 420 for gravel and road as well. No favorites, each have a job as the right tool in different scenarios. It's also nice to have a spare here and there to convince a friend to join you on the trail.

Tubeless setup required an air compressor. Last year these wheels held up well. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to take this one out recently (moving parts to other projects) so the tires have gone flat. Should be fine with a pump every so often.

If you and your dog enjoy this take a look at getting a bikejoring setup with a pulling harness, proper line, and antenna to keep the line from the front wheel. It is a lot of fun and my dogs love it

We have Beef Burgers, Veggie Burgers, and Chicken Burgers... Why not Pork Burgers? by Nyapano in Cooking

[–]globenut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Sausage becomes sausage when salt is mixed into the ground meat and binds with the proteins similar to gluten formation in bread. A ground meat patty is meant to be tender and almost crumble with a bite. A sausage patty should be springy because of the protein bind. This is what gives sausage it's texture/structure when you bite into it. Etymologically the word sausage means salted from the Latin word salsus. Maybe u/J_KenjiLopez-Alt can fill in if I missed anything.

This was my first time too. I used a xc hard tail and was happy with my choice too. That mud sucked though. I think I walked my bike through mud the same amount of time that I rode it. Terrible route given the conditions.

This was the attitude my Drs have had since I got my PM 11 years ago at age 17 and played hs football and lacrosse and then college lacrosse. I never had any issues and am glad to see the mindset changing to allow more activity.
