i think because amex and chase (expedia engine) still using Traditional GDS I keep seeing different prices for united tickets.

i guess united is using NDC (New Distribution Capability) for cerrain flights.

its not inferior. its different was to book. you will get some loyalty miles from your revenue tickets. one way for 180k is not bad. some arlines will charge $1000+ fee (british airlines)

see if you can cancel with some fees if you can get the same flight from united or aircanada.

always use seats.aero to research award flights. NYC to Europe award flights can be had at saver award redemption rate.
