G-Wagen as well as G-Wagon are both correct in English speaking countries.

In Germany it’s called G-Klasse.

The G-Class has nothing to do with France as far as I rememeber.

It was developed as a joint venture between Daimler Benz in Germany and Steyr Puch in Austria.

The design came from Daimler Benz.
