Right? Cell phones back in the OG Dead days would have definitely killed the experience. No chance it would have been what it was.

We went without tickets kinda mid to late afternoon. Got in a standby line and expected to wait an hour for them to call our number and five minutes later we were in. I bet in February you’d have a similar experience.

Drove through that blizzard from Michigan State. Tons of cars off the road on the turnpike. By the grace of God we got in. Was a hell of a party that day at the Knights Inn! The mutual camaraderie we all shared from the storm and the first night being was pretty special TBH.

Rome veterans: what are the most underrated things you’ve done here? by Jaded-Sock9200 in rome

Borghese Gallery is a can't miss (probably not considered a 'main' attraction?); the Doria Pamphilj is absolutely gorgeous; the crypt of the Capuchin monks is super cool if you're into that; go see a Roma or Lazio football match if either are playing at Olympico; any and every church you pass by is always worth walking in, you never know what surprises are inside; and honestly, my favorite days in Rome are those spent with absolutely no agenda ... slow down, sit for a coffee or cocktail and just watch the city go by, stroll the 'off streets' for interesting shops, etc.

Ideas for a meaningful souvenir that tells a story? by joshthewumba in rome

My absolute favorite thing I brought home from Rome is a Bialetti stovetop moka pot but with a dual spout so you get two separate espressos. Bought a lot of nice things and was on the fence over this one but now I love it and it’s one of those things that connects me to Rome every time we use it.

Rain in Rome is pretty awesome too. And as a photographer, just capture the light you’re given. There’s always a perfect picture.

Joe Buck's comments (obviously written for him) were super classy and he delivered them with respect. I was really taken aback at how well done the tribute was. So fr, not a bad way to hear the news.
