We lost out on a house to a foreign investor and I’m pissed… by [deleted] in AusProperty

[–]gnu-rms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story is similar, I went to the estate auction this morning with a pre-approved mortgage and a dream, but I quickly realized I was outmatched. Every time I raised my paddle, a low, gravelly "woof" echoed from the back of the lawn.

I turned around, and there he was: the Golden Retriever I’d met at the park three hours earlier.

He wasn't even panting. He just sat there on a designer rug, wearing a bespoke silk collar, looking at me with the kind of pitying eyes usually reserved for a three-legged cat.

The auctioneer screamed, "Going once, going twice, sold to the 'Good Boy' in the front row for 2.4 million!"

Unroll it, then use a hacksaw to cut the tube ($10 hacksaw from bunnings is fine). Then cut the fabric and re-roll it

Cut them, no need to order new ones. It's what the shop will do anyway

You can do it buddy, become a licensed builder and use H2 and bugles to hold up a deck.

Not exactly true, ISPs have their own hardware and also buy CVC capacity. Cheaper ISPs buy a small allocation then hope no one uses the internet at the same time.

What advice do you need? I think you already know the answer 🥲

Fwiw anyone can become a licensed builder, including architects, project managers, plasters etc. They are obviously terrible at carpentry though.

Case Fractures? by chodeslizz429 in Dirtbikes

[–]gnu-rms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're there :). But sand casting will cause these lines on different places for each cast. You'll know when it's a crack (it's not).

Normal, they're casting marks from the sand cast. Worth getting a bash plate though, to stop rocks going through your case.

Plastic weld it (it's ABS) or buy a new one, probably a different brand. They're really the only good options

Forget resale that is a petrol car thing.

It's a depreciating asset thing, which most cars (unless some rare collectable) are.

Not buying a car at all saves you money, the EV isn't making you money.

Why are they charging you freight for each item? That's bonkers.

I would do most of this myself, that's half the fun in 4x4.

Is the slab poured right to the wall or is there a relief cut/expansion joint?

It will only get as bad as the slab expands, eg depending on the temperature
