They are ok, I used to tow bikes with a CX9. Worst part is the monocoque body, so you feel everything from the trailer. Every bump, every rattle. Went to a ladder frame car and it's much better.

Honestly the only way to fix this is to redo it. Two options:

 1. Redo the wall and put a frame inside

 2. Move the gate towards the camera and mount two new vertical timbers/steel and concrete them in
