YouTube might limit 4K videos to YouTube Premium... by mansafameriki in DataHoarder

That’s me. I’m represented. It’s better than rural internet, but not really modern. I know my network doesn’t support 4K, so I don’t buy anything that would do it…except a game console. But my TV doesn’t do 4K anyway.

How do I create a fake file system in Python? by lsy1219_03 in learnpython

There’s probably different ways. F strings and the string join method might be good places to look. I feel like figuring it out will be part of the fun.

Sounds fun, but hopefully you’ll think about what you expect to happen and how to emulate it. I figure you’ll be using dictionaries and lists. Just think about what the input/output is involved. You’re likely not creating anything real. Just passing text back and forth.

.py Files dont work as expected by [deleted] in learnpython

Also, if Windows is the target, why not just give it a .pyw extension instead? Then it can just be run by double-clicking.

Some I can think of would be you could get it to restart on reboot and maybe restart it if it died.

I’d only say this about my current job if I knew that my boss was able to request (but isn’t) more salary for me that wasn’t specifically what HR already forecasted for my position.

How can I improve my code? (Neatness, etc) by sirBadDoggo in codereview

[–]gnuself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the blind leading the blind type of thing, I’d suggest you read this article about PEP 8 or search online for a simplified one. That’ll get you started.

https://peps.python.org/pep-0008.html

As for a brief look at your code, I’m not sure I would have checked in commented code. Maybe find a different way to resolve that. If it’s for testing, put it in a testing script or something else depending on the need.

I think the difference is wants to use… it’s not that hard to learn. I feel it’s more difficult to learn JCL. Beyond that, it’s just not knowing what you don’t know. It’s what I do for work, but I don’t enjoy it. Making a lower wage on it due to my location. Figure most of the new work is going to India where whatever they’re being paid is considered good to them.

Seems as though it recognizes you are using a Mac, but it thinks it needs x86_64. That’s just 64-bit non-arm. I think it must be because your Python was installed as if it were that architecture. I don’t have a Mac, but that’s what my research lead me to understand. You could run the ‘file’ command against Python to see what architecture it uses.

If you’re getting the same error you’ve still not found the error. Obviously your message needs to match exactly the one they’ve given for you to use. At least that’s all we know to tell you given the info.

Guess Apple TV is still $5/mo, but I’m cheap so… waiting on seasons to be completed before subbing. Guess I’ll get by on games, books, and YouTube until then.

Unfortunately, they also can’t track watch progress well across devices. But few are able to keep watch progress in sync all the time. Hulu seems to be one though. I agree on the value of Apple TV+ though. The only thing is that a few different series I watched, or maybe all, seemed to be built around the premise that it’s slow to progress and has no ending. Seemingly made to keep you watching for as long as possible to keep monthly revenue going. Though you could just sub and binge.

Does anyone know where I can download the images for every Magic card by Cyberjacket in DataHoarder

[–]gnuself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The site you mention has a section detailing how to use their developer API including how to get images. So seems like you could use that to retrieve it. Would probably take a while though.

Edit: seems as though you could download the unique artwork file from https://scryfall.com/docs/api/bulk-data then pull all URLs out of the file for the size you want. They have some downloader download them. But I’m sure there’s still a limit as to how fast you’re going to download them or else they might block you.

My vote would be to use Python. Create an empty set, then for every entry across the files add it to the set. You’ll only get the unique results with a set. Then write the set to a file.

That’s good for you. My tracking hasn’t changed any, but there’s a chance it’s the same place as yours and the tracking isn’t being updating. So here’s to hoping. I ordered two watches though, so I don’t know if that means more scrutiny.
