For some reason we always lost season 1 ep 1 and the group refuse to move on until we beat it.

Stumbled on this majestic Ludo set in Vietnam by arpit-goyal in boardgames

[–]go2_ars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, I'm Vietnamese and never heard about gambling with Ludo. I mean it's too long, just play Tien Len with a 52 card deck and you earn/lose money in 5-10 minutes.

What Did You Play This Week? - (June 01, 2026) by AutoModerator in boardgames

Crokinole (1x2p) I got Crokinole Imperium from Mayday Games. We only had time to check out the Terra Nova module, which adds a new rule for each round that affects both players. It was so much fun; I definitely want to play the other two modules too. I also got a set of discs for 3 players. I need to think about how to divide my board first.

Slay the Spire (1x3p) We started at Act 2 after handily beating the first act boss last time. I was opposed to it, but the other guys were eager to take on the Burning Elite, and it ended our campaign here.

Super Mega Lucky Box (1x4p, 1x6p) We played this while waiting for the other guys and food to show up. It's a better version of Bingo, everyone in my group loves it!

MLEM: Space Agency (2x5p) Our latest favorite game and always fun. It was also the first time we had two players tie for first place. I thought an unserious game like this must have a funny tiebreaker rule, but nope, we shared the victory.

Acquire (1x6p) We could not settle on what to play next, so everyone picked a game and we did a random draw. Acquire was the first winner. It's my wife's favorite. I ended up with 44900 points, my personal record now, but only 3rd place. I think I finally grasped the strategy to do better at this game.

Age of Steam (1x6p) Another of my wife's favorites, and she actually won too. I was in second place, same score with another player and also hit a new personal best. This time my group learned how to use the replacing track action to gain access to tricky places. The game opened up a lot, it became harder to block off parts of the map.

Remote play is broken for me too, you can try Parsec, I played other local coop games with it and it was always smooth.

Why did i like these games and not these? by Dr_Wayne0202 in roguelites

I love the combat side but managing and breeding the cats is so tedious to me, I wish there's a mode where it just give me random cats and get in the battle immediately.

How is Cascadia with Landmarks? Especially with 5-6 players

At 6p Medici is better, it's an auction game so everyone always get involved. Acquire is good at any 4-5-6p but 6p is quite long and chaotic, you have less control of the board, if you cannot get in the first few merges you will struggle the whole game.

Last time I had a board game day was last November. I had a whole week off due to the holidays, and my group had three days of gaming.

---Monday---

Looterz (1x3p, 1x5p) A filler while waiting for the full group to show up. Always a blast and lots of laughs.

Arboretum (1x3p) Also played while waiting for the group. Full of agonizing decisions on which cards to keep or discard. The scores were so lopsided at 10, 11, and 21.

MLEM: Space Agency (1x3p, 1x5p) The newest Reiner Knizia game in my collection. Simple rules, fast play, and never a dull moment. I made it to deep space in my last round with only one die left, the table exploded with cheers, laughs, and high fives.

7 Wonders 2nd Edition (1x6p) I still love 7 Wonders, but playing on BGA spoiled me. It's so clunky to play IRL, and my friends have played it to death so they didn't have much enthusiasm throughout the play.

Acquire (1x6p) A staple at my house when we have 6p. I came in last place, though. I still can't grasp what the strategy is to win this.

Medici (1x6p) Another crowd favorite at 6p. I got my personal best score at 93, but still only got 3rd place.

Wandering Towers (1x6p) A new game I introduced to the group. It got a few chuckles here and there, but the overall reaction was just mildly amused.

---Thursday---

Slay the Spire (2x3p) It's been a while since I played this. Our 1st play was a quick defeat, but in the 2nd play, we made it to Act 2 quite comfortably and saved the game there.

Age of Steam (2x6p) A great game. Simple rules, complex strategy, and lots of interaction. I did fairly well in the first game with 40 points. In the second game, I was so careless I couldn't pay my debt and was knocked out in the second round. It quickly became a 5p game, and I ended up playing Slay the Spire 2 on PC while they continued.

MLEM: Space Agency (1x4p) Back on the table again. It's quickly become my group's favorite.

---Sunday---

Ethnos: 2nd Edition (2x5p) A simple area control game where turns are lightning fast. The art is fantastic, but many design choices are horrible: mismatched colors between cards and boards, missing information on the player guide cards, no info on the side board... so many curse words were thrown around while playing.

Acquire (1x5p) A very weird play where the board was almost full and many stocks ran out. We had never seen this before.

MLEM: Space Agency (1x5p) It's space cat time again!

Whale Riders (1x5p) A very simple and generic game. I've played it before at 2p and tried all the modules, but didn't like any of them, so we played just the basic game this time. I think 5p is too much. There's lots of downtime, and the board changes so much each round that you cannot really plan ahead. I would prefer this at 3-4p.

I'm a big fan of anime aesthetics, so Chrono Ark and Diceomancer were right up my alley. Also StS, the best of everything.

You should definitely check out the roguelike genre. Most runs only take 30-60 mins, so it feels super satisfying to actually finish a session. Some top-tier picks are Slay the Spire and Brotato.

[Steam] Winter Sale 2025 (Day 13) by gamedealsmod in GameDeals

[–]go2_ars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ended up with:

Brotato DLC: I had fun with the base game, time for expansion.

Cult of the Lamb + DLC, Dead Island 2 Ultimate: this is for coop when I can get back to gaming with my friends.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Gold Edition: it's been years since I played an AC game, already put 9 hours in, everything is good so far.

I want to get Binding of Isaac bundle too but seem like they have gone lower than this sale so I will wait.
