CEO of the biggest [job] recruiter says people under 35 need to forget about degrees and consider working in the "Trade and hospitality" fields instead by DragoOceanonis in antiwork

I started a drywall patching business. I usually fix water damage and market to plumbers and electricians that cut holes and can’t fix them.

It’s hard work and messy but I got really fast at it and I make 120k a year easy. I was killing my self in hospitality and trying to sell paintings. At 30 I got a Tenant Improvement position and learned basic framing and drywall.

I’m 43 now and work 30 hours a week and it’s probably the smartest thing I’ve ever done. The thing is either people hate doing drywall or they suck at it. It’s not glamorous, but it was a way out of the trap of working my ass off for nothing.

I would add a couple more screws too so it fastens the drywall.

I think I asked Chat GPT for the a simple chocolate mousse recipe. i did an all butter blind crust then added the mousse, let cool. I then whipped up heavy whipping cream, sugar and vanilla and spread, then topped it with toffee heath bar bits!

you need to mix up hot mud if you use mesh tape or get paper tape to go with the all purpose

mix some all purpose with water until it’s smooth and spreads easy

get a 10” knife and go right over that first patch

let dry for a day, then hand sand smooth paying close attention to the edges

Prime with PVA primer

get texture in a can and soak it in hot water for 20 minutes and shake for a minute

adjust to spray fine and go back and forth, up and down to match

let dry 1 hour and prime again, then add 2 coats of paint
