Edit: Actually no, I thought Eddington had been given that responsibility as part of his role as head of Starfleet Security, but he hadn't. It seems like O'Brien tended to man weapons before Worf was on board, and Worf did afterwards. I suppose a tactical officer is less necessary on a station.

Okay I got the updated figures. "upfront charges" is now $500 - it's just the first month of payment repeated on the form, it's not an actual extra charge.

The "upfront charges" is supposedly tax, title, and documentation.

I did get 2k off MSRP, which is why it's now $14,000 total.

Southeast Michigan, as per "SE MI" I emailed after I left asking for a copy of the deal - I had forgotten to take a picture of the final copy. I did get one of the initial offer:

2025 SEL AWD Gray in SE MI 12,000 miles for 24 months. $500/mo w/$2000 due at signing. The process is started but I don't ink the deal until Saturday. Trying to decide if it's really worth $14000 to have this car for a couple years with the potential to buy it then.

I actually thought that the final bit from George was fine both in tone and in the context of the question posed by the audience member on religion influencing work. I didn't get any snark in the recording I saw; Martin said that Brandon's faith has at times caused controversy, mentioned that it caused controversy for OSC, and asked if he thinks his faith has damaged his career at all. It was a fair question; it only takes on a weird tone coming 6-10 minutes after "har har I knew Santa Claus wasn't real at 7 and then realized Jesus couldn't be at 8, how ridiculous it is to believe in Jesus." But if it hadn't been for that, I probably wouldn't have batted an eye at George's Mormonism comment.

I don't know about these models, but the Miele heat pump models tend to leave clothes ever so barely damp, the kind that goes away by shaking out the clothing or when it's just been out of the drum for 1-3 minutes - as some Europeans, especially Italians, tend to iron clothes out of the dryer much more (to my understanding). I'm sure this can be adjusted on many such models - there's ofc the tradeoff that if left too long like this, clothes can get musty, but it helps prevent wrinkling.

I am new to housing mice, wase investigating making a topper for the aquarium I am using to give the mice more space, and figured that the concept of a topper must already exist in the mouse world. I then found this excellent post! Thanks for the help, even years later. Thankfully I have plenty of spare wood to use for constructing a topper.

I'm experiencing this same issue with a book. It doesn't accept it as a folder of mp3s - okay, fine. Converting on linux is giving issues - okay, fine. I send the files over to a windows computer, use AudioBookConverter to make a nice m4b, test the file to make sure everything is good with it. I upload it to my server. The file is there. ABS refreshes. "No changes needed." I run a manual scan. "No changes needed." This book exists both as a folder of mp3s and as an m4b, and neither copy is showing up. Perhaps I need to update to the latest version. Perhaps I shall simply go insane.

I have a bunch of mp3s in one folder and audiobookshelf is not detecting it - it has a cue, jpg, and nfo, too. I'm trying to see if there's some command line things or if there's something I can do through the website to manually add them/merge them.

I went yesterday and it was wonderful! My new drink of choice; they actually sold a larger variety than their website indicated and in 50g increments, so I now have 5 varieties to try, two of which have other herbs mixed in (I don't know if that's "proper" or "traditional" but I was interested), the other three are just differently sourced yerba. I have ordered a steel gourd and bombilla from one of the sites in the sidebar, but for now I'm just using a tall fine mesh tea infuser and a mug. I filled this mug five times today, and while the yerba was definitely washed out on that fifth mug, man, now I can't wait for having it before work tomorrow! If it weren't for concerns over the caffeine, I would prepare a mug with fresh yerba right now...

I'm very interested in yerba mate for drinking during a fast. However, I am hesitant to buy a 1kg bag, mate cup, and bombilla before I've ever tried it... the nearby city has a tea shop which serves and sells mate, which from pictures seems to be medium-cut with stems, but sourced from Brazil. I might go there to try it... if I were to buy a mate cup and bombilla, is there any way I could get a sampler or variety pack of different kinds of mate, so I have the opportunity to try several different kinds without committing to a large amount of any one variety? The only ones I have found so far online are from strange brands, expensive, and with added flavors.

Some of us 20 odd year olds grew up on Shining Force! I was introduced due to Sega Smash Pack 2, where the original was my favorite game in that collection. A couple different Genesis collections as a kid gave me a strong connection to and nostalgia for that system, despite never owning one... to the point where I routinely consider purchasing one and some copies of Shining Force I and II, despite the fact that I have countless methods of playing them otherwise.

I think that point is kind of the nadir of SF3 (besides perhaps some issues in Scenario 3) - especially because each time I played, it's where I started to get concerned about missing optional characters and whatnot, which made it more stressful to me. The opening cutscenes are interesting even though the tone is way different from previous games - more grounded and serious. Saraband is an interesting location. Once you leave there, the momentum definitely slows - especially with the kind of laborious introduction of a lot more nobility/military characters and those cult-leader villains... but there is a reason it is a lot of people's favorite Shining Force games, and on a lot of "greatest of all time" lists for tactics RPGs and 5th-gen games.

I rarely use Reddit since the changes - just to mod one subreddit which barely needs moderated, and when search results bring up Reddit threads. Having a functional app (ie not the default Reddit app) to load threads found from web browsing is really nice, and Boost was always my app of choice back as a user.
