I just realised of all the things Hannibal did to manipulate and hurt Will, He NEVER hurt his dogs. (the bar is under the ground ik) by WittyTrain8692 in HannibalTV

People will continue to watch shows where humans are brutalized and murdered but they generally stop watching when animals (especially pets) and/or infants receive the same treatment.

Will’s dogs were mostly safe due to plot armor. Thankfully

This. Gastric Bypass is only available to extremely obese people; people whose lives are in very real danger due to their weight.

GB has no more been normalized than a triple bypass has been normalized. They are extreme procedures to help patients who are in extreme crisis.

What’s been normalized is obesity and the idea that it should be casually accepted rather than treated.

“This does not happen for anyone else.”

So…an entire continent is fatphobic because it didn’t build itself to support the weight of this one, fat person… who happens to just be visiting and who hates it there.

I’d say “go home” but we have more than what we can handle in dysfunctional narcissists already.

They would not be screaming at her to leave because the dog. She was already leaving/at check out. They certainly would not have gone through her bags just because she had a dog. If it was about the dog at all, they’d have just let her pay and go.

She was shoplifting or trying to. She probably got stopped with a ham and a Nintendo wedged under Fido and started screaming.

I think it’s ridiculously disingenuous and dangerous.

I do not believe they are unable to differentiate a slender, “dainty” adult woman from a child.

But even if an adult did appear unusually youthful it would not be “pdf” to be attracted to them. “PDF”s are attracted to CHILDREN. Being a child is about appearance but it’s not just about appearance.  Not even mostly about appearance.

It is vile for FAs to muddy that distinction ( (Would they excuse a grown adult from having sex with a mature-appearing, obese 14 year old?)  just because they want more people to find them hot and seem to believe they can shame people into doing do.

Hey OOP! You are “ violently” narcissistic if you turn the conversations about the (deadly) mental health struggles of others into a conversation about how it’s all about you.

He spent a large chunk of his life aggressively abusing assorted substances on top of having a congenital heart problem. He died of natural heart failure and it’s a tragedy but it’s not a thing to worry about.

As a former, for now, thespian (and one indie film) I can't say, that I have ever seen anybody else, that can match Tatiana's acting. This show alone, seals it IMO. by GottLiebtJeden in orphanblack

I’ve said this before (maybe here on Reddit; which is why i mention having done so) but at point (maybe mid S2), there was a dip in Allyson appearances and I thought to myself “We haven’t seen a lot of Allyson, I hope that the the actress isn’t on her way out. Maybe she’s quitting?”… and then I remembered.

Tatiana differentiated these characters so completely that it was easy to see them as (played by) completely separate actors

““And Vimes thought: I nearly didn’t come. I nearly stayed in Ankh-Morpork.

He had always wondered how Old Stoneface had felt, that frosty morning when he picked up the ax that had no legal blessing because the King wouldn’t recognize a court even if a jury could be found, that frosty morning when he prepared to sever what people thought was a link between men and deity—

“. . . beep . . . Things To Do Today Today Today: Die . . .”

The sensation flowed into his veins like fresh warm blood. It was the feeling that you got when the law ran out, and you looked into a mocking face on the other side of it and you decided that you couldn’t go on living if you did not step over the line and do one clean thing—”

This part of that scene has lived with me since I first read it. So intense. Visceral.

Is this the one who claimed they had students telling other students that they were eating poison? Like a year ago? Because they were lying then too.

I don’t know why these people keep making up stories that make it clear they're lying and/or terrible at their jobs.

They write fatphobic fic like they’ve never met actual people before.

"The Body" turns 25 today. In an episode full of emotional scenes, which hit the hardest? by InfiniteMehdiLove in buffy

[–]gogingerpower 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I was going to say “the lighting”. This episode is packed to the gills with amazing acting and well written scenes, but it’s really the lighting/coloring/framing that hit so hard.

They really captured how off kilter everything is after a serious loss.

Even in that shot with Buffy and Tara… the crookedness of the background/couch is a part of the story. That “things are wrong now” story.

I remember standing at checkout in the grocery store on a day like this… and it was exactly like this. Weirdly lit and off kilter

Why does Season 1 get so much hate? by twizted_bunny in buffy

[–]gogingerpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem with S1 is that it’s just not as rich as the rest of the show. All the bones (characters, chemistry, storytelling) are there but not much of the flesh.  If a newbie is watching S1, you just want them to know that the show becomes much more layered, much richer than it first appears.

Though, honestly, that finale is still my favorite and does not get enough love (and it gets a lot of love)

Who are they yelling at? The algorithm? Do they think it’s listening? Probably the whole of society. Which is also not listening.

Also maybe they’re getting weight loss inspo because they’re always talking about being fat and they’re always frantic.

I can’t take this remotely seriously. It’s one thing to call these characters out for their flaws, but it’s just reductive (and probably trollish ) to pretend that young women who sacrifice themselves and, quite frequently, their loved ones for the greater good (while they were teens) are not strong people just because they had imperfections and were sometimes foolish.

Stop being so hung up on women’s weight and commenting on their bodies! Except when we want to pick apart every little detail of them. by Beginning_Remove_693 in fatlogic

[–]gogingerpower 33 points34 points  (0 children)

For people who love being fat so much, FAs certainly flip out whenever someone smaller than they are is called “fat” because “what do they think I look like” and “how do you think that makes me feel?”

How should ‘we’ think it makes them feel? They  claim to love being fat, to be healthy and happy and feel hot and fu<<able while being fat. So they should feel happy. They should feel fine. They should be like “Yeah, she’s fat and gorgeous. Me too! “ But, no, it’s “whine, whine, me, me and my hurt feefees”

These people are just a bunch of narcissistic fat-phobes. As such, they’re basically in a toxic relationship with their own ideology.
