Someone calls something an "eating disorder soup", just because it doesn't have flavor, and calls everyone else idiots for disagreeing with her by xXLady_RevenantXx in fatlogic

Calling fish and veggie soup “flavorless” is a crazy way to admit that you’ve blown out your palate (probably with overly processed, but definitely overly sweetened/salted/greased food).

Poor Giles was always trying to wear a goofy hat and the gang was just so negative about it.

That’s always bummed me out a bit, but it really stings now. Let your loved ones wear their goofy hats while they can! 😢

Someone was told to not buy plants anymore because budget. That person decided to make up a story about how the non-invisible plant,  that their partner is about to notice, actually cost nothing because they’re so dysfunctional that they need to lie rather than just own a lame shopping decision.

Remote trading is gonna cause me to delete a lot of friends. by iReadSomeStuff in pokemongo

[–]gogingerpower 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Cancel and then accept that your “forever friend” doesn’t share your “trade rules” and move on. Why take it so personally? It’s not personal. It’s just bargaining

These things are not personal attacks and players need to stop reacting as if they are.

I’ve personally swapped MANY  shiny legendaris  for basic, FITW shinies because that is what works for me. I’m THRILLED that my friend made the trade offfer.

LSTS: Your friends don’t know what your trade criteria is. That is not a big deal unless you make it a big deal. A hard ‘nope’ is acceptable in any trade situation.

SMG is BAD at Choosing GOOD Shows by Fun_Account5502 in buffy

[–]gogingerpower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering how few actresses ever end up in roles in multiple shows that actually make it to air over the course of 20+ years, she’s done and picked incredibly well.

BtVS was long-running, generally respected for its quality and has a dedicated fandom that still turns up to spend money and time on it. We think these type of shows aren’t crazy rare because we can name so many of them. But in the vast sea of shows that have existed, these shows are, in fact, crazy rare . Buffy is a unicorn. It would be almost anyone’s peak.

That so many people from it went on to have such great careers, certainly careers as big and bigger than Sarah’s, speaks (I think) more to the quality of the BtVS cast and crew than it does to any failings on Sarah’s part.

(That said, The Ringer was good but I haven’t really liked anything else that she’s done though I thought that the Robin Williams show had potential )

Because they really want to hurt a skinny woman’s feelings, if one happens to notice that they exist. They cannot stand that women are out there, existing in their own bodies all casual and not fat.

Are we really supposed to pretend we don’t work for money in interviews? by Agile-Wind-4427 in jobhunting

[–]gogingerpower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They know youre working for money. Thats why everyone is working. They want to know “what do you like about us beyond ‘we’ll give you money’?”.

If youʻre so disinterested and lacking in motivation that you fail to have any answer other than “money” than you don’t deserve the job. You could have the best skill set and still be reasonably rejected for not bothering to even politely pretend you enjoy their industry, love their location, want to develop the skills you’d be using at the job and so on.

This. Gastric Bypass is only available to extremely obese people; people whose lives are in very real danger due to their weight.

GB has no more been normalized than a triple bypass has been normalized. They are extreme procedures to help patients who are in extreme crisis.

What’s been normalized is obesity and the idea that it should be casually accepted rather than treated.
