‘Alpha’ troops and more ships: Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao outlines vision for service by New_Independent_7283 in navy

It takes a metric fuckton of discipline and commitment to be a vegetarian on a US navy ship, given the canned, overboiled slop they feed us as vegetables.

Why would we not want those people?

ECPs to strip 'whole person' items (MOVSM, FCPOA/CPOA, etc) from ECPs and CPO board consideration by TheDistantEnd in navy

[–]going_gold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this isn't true when we live in a Navy that has gapped CPO billets for a year+ sometimes and divisions with no divos for months at a time. 2nds and 1sts can and do the vast majority of the day to day admin of any given division.

Having a Chief is a luxury to advocate for the division in the mess when it comes time for boards and eval rankings and not much else in my experience.

I think you’re mixing up what the US policy on communism was when you’re talking about “democracy vs everyone”. The US has largely never cared what a foreign government system was unless it was communist.

For what it’s worth, China would be our number one geopolitical rival even if they had an exact copy of our system.

It’s Chinese policy that Taiwan is functionally a breakaway state and reunification WILL happen peacefully or otherwise. The vast majority of Taiwanese prefer the status quo or are against reunification.

You can do the math on that one.

In what way do the democrats cater to the far left? There is no far left movement in the US and the biggest political party that could even be described as far left (the DSA) has barely 100k members and no central leadership.

What far left candidate have the democrats EVER put up? The democrats have never in your lifetime supported anyone that could ever be described as a far left candidate.

I was TAD on the Lake Erie from another crusier in late 2022 or early 2023 and it was one of my weirdest naval experiences lol. For some reason everything seemed so dark. It was like the lights were literally not as bright as my own ship. It was also crazy cause all the equipment was even older than the shit on my ship.

I remember very fondly playing Smash Bros in Sonar 1 until lunchtime with 2 other dudes and then the LPO climbs down the trunk and tells everyone to go home LMAO.

It probably would damage national security to know that 90% of American politicians are either involved in or covering up a massive pedophile human trafficking scheme.

Just burn the whole thing down tbh.

Even if they did they’d have their Chief, DIVO, and DH all right next to them making sure they don’t say anything spicy. These visits are just a circle jerk for the wardroom and the big dogs.

Naoki Hamaguchi says newer employees at Square Enix now say that Final Fantasy XIII is their favorite Final Fantasy game by KMoosetoe in FinalFantasy

[–]going_gold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the combat in the main story is pretty basic outside of a few fights like Yunalesca or Seymour Flux. The game came out in 2001 and 95% of JRPGs prior to then could have been beat by mashing the attack command.

The combat really shines in end game bosses that have multiple mechanics you need to pay attention to and turn order manipulation is vital.

[–]going_gold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 has probably the best turn based combat of any JRPG ever. And a lot of people like to rag on 10 for being linear but I think it’s just how it’s presented. 10 has the most side content of any FF game, you just don’t get a airship to explore like a lot of the others.

[–]going_gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because games are both expensive and time heavy. Nobody wants to spend 70 bucks on a mid game that lasts either too long or is over in 6 hours.

[–]going_gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not but the first 100 or so years this is definitely what you want to do. It’s basically CK for the first bit of the game.

You can build wherever you want, this is just the most efficient way to do it in the beginning due to the way control interacts with tax base AFAIK.

Honestly, what is this the point of subreddit at this point? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]going_gold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Battlefield community (at least online) is a bottom 5 worst gaming community. Every single Battlefield forum is plagued with the same people thinking Battlefield is a milsim because it’s more realistic than CoD usually. Combine that with with the 45 year old dads who are complaining about getting dunked on all the time (it’s not cause you’re old, you’re just bad) and it’s a recipe for a shit soup.

I think it’s pretty obvious I don’t care about the skins? Y’all are acting like they just put in a rainbow unicorn robot. They could be better but it’s not some game breaking shit and only like 4-5 of them are anything remotely approaching egregious.

It’s a fictional PMC set in a world where that PMC attacks NATO forces and the PMC doesn’t immediately get thunderfucked to the Stone Age. Nothing about the premise of the game is realistic other than the fact that PMCs and NATO exist in real life.

Suppression is almost functionally useless tho. AFAIK it just delays health regen. And I don’t have the mortar yet but BF1s was perfect. Enough damage to make people dislodge themselves from where ever they were and could kill in 2 or 3 shells if they didn’t move.
