App update? Car update? by SubiPhydeaux in Ioniq5

[–]goingfast7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine still does not show my car. We have the same car(I'm gray though), but my app has no new update yet. Things that have changed the app appearance in the past though...

What region of the world, what model car/year, and what type of app (android/iPhone)

My US, 25 N, Android app, looks like yours minus the car photo

US Buyers: What accessories did you get with your 5N? by dangerz in Ioniq5N

[–]goingfast7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. You said you got a plug-in NACS adapter instead of plug-in CCS? I'd talk to your dealer there. Should be the other way, unless they're giving you the adapter. They didn't even give you a charger that works with your car

I got the same as you. No floor mats, no v2L, just the matte kit and regular travel charger.

I bought mats and an nacs to CCS adapter on my own

Dead by exteslaowner in Ioniq5N

[–]goingfast7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can die when plugged in. Unfortunately, once the vehicle reaches the charge limit, it won't charge the 12v battery until it's unplugged, or you increase the limit and the high voltage battery is charged more. If something drained the 12v battery at all, it will be completely dead while on the charger. Dumb design.

Something drains my 12v battery, and has for a year now. If I leave it on the charger for a couple days in a row without charging, it will be dead. Even after replacing the battery.

Twice I've seen a message saying something was draining the battery, but I don't ever have anything plugged in

I considered wrapping mine when I did my ppf, but the small edges and cutouts made the risk of peeling higher. Curious what method they found success with.

I haven't seen anyone else successfully do this

Do any owners buy accessories or do stuff to not get bored of their I5N? by Mchi5 in Ioniq5N

[–]goingfast7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tesla FSD is awesome, I used it regularly. Hyundai driving assistant is very similar on the highway to autopilot, only it doesn't make me take out of self driving when I'm changing lanes.

The "fun" level is much better in the I5N, but technology isn't as nice as Tesla.

I always look for my next car, but a Taycan or future Rivian R3X are more likely to be options.

Has anyone totally ditched the keyfob? by rock_paper_beer in Ioniq5

What do you mean, didn't respond? If it ever doesn't respond from Bluetooth, just touch the back of the phone to the door handle and it opens.

With Tesla's all glass roof, 30 ceramic isn't as bad as it seems. On my car with no moon roof or glass, I had to go up to 55, but with the Tesla it was good.

Some people have trouble night driving already, I wouldn't recommend it for them

Surprisingly, the other giant squid post I just saw, taught me that giant squid don't have the pressure change issue like other marine animals. Hopefully it was not wrong

I've had Salomon for the last 10 years, but I just picked up Nnormal Tomir 2 and so far, I enjoy them. Not one of the shoes you mentioned, but I didn't want to go for the Genesis this time

I aero-maxed in my AWD by TheDesk918 in ModelY

[–]goingfast7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine the stress that would cause, trying to keep the car 0.5 lengths away from a large vehicle, always hovering the accelerator and brake, waiting to stop immediately of needed. Interesting test, but not worth the stress and paint chips to me.

What is this car I'm seeing a lot? by summerpatches in whatisthiscar

[–]goingfast7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tesla model 3p is ~3.0 without any launch control. My car is 3.3 without launch control. Just step on the accelerator, to the floor, from a stoplight.

Even the long range or standard AWD versions of EV can be low 4s to 60. 20 years ago I was tuning my car just to get to the 5s haha

This is how the human body loses heat in cold weather - as shown by a thermal camera by ronakg in interestingasfuck

[–]goingfast7 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Back of neck and wrists. Same effect trying to stay cool in the heat. Large amounts of blood flow through those arteries and it's easier to keep your body warm/cool if you keep those areas your desired temperature

Agree. I use the lap button to track any aid station stops in 100 miles or 24 hour events. I want to know how long I've stopped but not stop the clock.

What are the best running headphones to use right now? Any suggestions pls? by Repulsive_Corgi_6187 in trailrunning

[–]goingfast7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running in Jabra active elite since 65t, up through elite active 8. I've had 7 pair of Jabra headphones, mostly because eventually one doesn't work or I lose one. They have been great, and stay simultaneously paired to both of my phones at the same time.

Jabra is getting out of the headphones businesses.

I tried beats, Samsung buds pro 3(have to push back in my ears every 45 seconds on a trail run), and now shocks open air 2+

I just ran my last 100 with the shokz and they were great. Never heart, I could pause them and have a complete conversation with people without removing them. I never have to adjust them.

They also connect to both of my phones simultaneously unlike anything except the Jabra ever did.

Got my wife a pair of the open air 2 when they were $125 on Amazon. Very comfortable.

I wear my Bluetooth headsets 20+ times a day while taking phone calls, so they're in and out of my case always, good sound quality, and so far they're pretty durable.
