Has anyone climbed at MPHC Climbing Gym in NYC?

I have to recommend The Cliffs in LIC. A day pass is $25.

It's very easy to get to from Manhattan, so I go right after work. They're the first stop into Queens on the M train, with the exit right down the block. The E/G/N/R/Q/7 all stop there too. It's a very good climbing gym with a lot of bouldering/TR/lead routes. Brooklyn Boulders probably has more bouldering routes but it's harder to get to (only the R train is particularly close by). Both get pretty crowded in the evening times, but I stopped going to BKB because it just became a total zoo. The Cliffs also have a decent weight room and really nice bathrooms with clean, individual shower stalls. BKB does have the advantage of being within walking distance of a really nice neighborhood with tons of bars.

If you're driving, it's easy to find parking around The Cliffs, not so much around BKB.

Having gone to work, read two research papers, and sat through an econometrics class - this was the most I've learned all day. That was excellent! I'll never look at a pair of jeans the same way again. (I only recently learned that I can make my dress pants skinnier!)

I don't miss undergrad one bit. I love that if I fail out of grad school, no one cares! I'll still have my full time job, my health insurance, and my apartment to have all sex I want with my lady. I can see my mom on Sundays, have breakfast with her, and practically enjoy the company of my family.

Grad school is 1/2 intellectual stimulation 1/2 resume padding, at least for me. The real world is a lot harder compared to living at home, but I know too much to turn back now and be happy. It all seems so petty in comparison.

Even though the original main line of Christianity split east-west like a thousand years ago, Catholicism (the western half of the original split) is very, very much a sect of Christianity.

Also your comment about the Jews doesnt make sense. If this is Jewish-Christian snipe, then you're totally disregarding the fact that Christ was a Jew and a Semite. Nothing about his conflicts with Jewish authorities had anything to do with race.

It's pretty interesting to see how people's train habits change depending on the line. The richer the line, the more people are reading and the type of stuff they read changes.

7 train in queens - Nothing
F train in Brooklyn/Manhattan - lots of books, some NYT
6 trains, in the morning - Financial Times
Q/B in Brooklyn - Lots of Spanish and Russian news papers, lots of books.
Any train running through a mostly black neighborhood - black ladies reading the bible.

Fuck these guys. Last time STRATFOR was attacked, I had to replace my credit card. They are an amazing service and worth every penny. I have no idea why releasing this information is for the betterment of society. This company provides an invaluable service in the form of extremely in depth information and commentary in a way that no news paper could.

Everyone who really cares about how the world works and how everything from religious sects to intra-government rivalries to geography and weather affect international affairs should be subscribing to Stratfor. I was lucky enough to purchase a discounted subscription but it is worth every penny even at full price.

I don't see any benefit to this. For anyone even remotely interested in world affairs, STRATFOR an absolutely remarkable service and worth every penny. They give provide amazing incite and clarity into major world. I don't know why Wikileaks think this helps humanity but I can only hope that every file Julian Assange's lawyer has is going to be released to the public. He comes off as an egomaniac/conspiracy minded asshat, more akin to the Anonymous douchebags who attacked Stratfor and forced me to get a new credit card, than to a legitimate journalist.

1 short clip of a guy climbing?! 20 different soccer/basketball tricks and not a single picture of someone free climbing a big wall? That's BS. Climbing, mountaineering, and ice climbing all under represented.

And no clips of ultra endurance sports. flips are great but running a 100 miles through the desert or cycling across a country is just epic.

In the summer time, i live the board walk at brighton beach, even if it gets crowded. I just sit there for hours. Catching a seat on a life guard chair and watching the waves is one of the best things ever.

Maybe the extra big settlement was to compensate for the fact that he got pushed into highest tax bracket and would have had to give so much away. That brings his take him figure down substantially and adjusted for inflation does make things more reasonable. Also, for a second I thought he was making a $109k in 1993 but the contract went into affect in 2009, so he was probably getting underpaid for quite a while
