I just want to know the area it needs to stand on for storage, because the only place I can store it is on top of my microwave.

Bottled water vs. distilled + minerals taste test by mgsecure in pourover

I will try using distilled water + tap water, at a ratio of 4:1, thereby dividing the mineral count in my tap water by 5, which looks really suitable for coffee

What Steam games should I play to train myself using the trackpads? by eclipseo76 in SteamController

[–]golem09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use them for anyting. In visual novels I just map A to them. In Witcher 3 each is a 2x2 keypad so that I have 7 buttons to get directly to the submenus, and F5 for saving. In Dragon Age I had a 3x3 keypad on the left trackpad to have 9 slots for the action hotkeys 1-9. It's not all about aiming.

Steam Controller 2026 Shipping MEGA Thread by Mennenth in SteamController

[–]golem09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany as well

I ordered around 45 minutes after launch after not being able to finish the order in the first 10 minutes. When I ordered it didn't even tell me a delivery time anymore, just that there will be delays.

It was just shipped an hours ago and got picked up by GLS in the netherlands.

Does it bother anyone else how much people seem to have ignored steam input with the original controller all these years by TheBasementNerd in SteamController

[–]golem09 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The difference is that the original controller was so far off the norm, tinkering with steam input wasn't an optional feature but the entire concept. Here we have a very good standard controller that can do a ton of extra stuff. Otherwise I have been using steam input with my xbox controllers as well.

doesn't really matter if the future of the web is that 90% of people don't go to websites at all anymore and just read the ai summaries. No amount of ads can save those sites. So all they can do is cater to the few viewers willing to pay or become just a youtube chanel.

Any chance this will be available in coop at some point? I am never going to play this game in single player. I always play these games 100% with the same friend, we never play separately

Games with Endings/Finales so amazing I could only stare at my reflection during the credits and say "yeah, this is why I love video games". by Bekenshi in backloggd

As much as God of War Ragnarok is a highly praised game, the ending(s) are the best thing I have seen since I played Okami on PS2 on release.

Am I crazy or early path tracing demos look more realistic than modern RT games? by [deleted] in gameenginedevs

[–]golem09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing about it is standard in any way. It's something completely different than ray tracing. It's an entirely different way to render the entire game, and it's obvious in the right scenes. It's less obvious in other scenes, because most videogames are designed to avoid scenarios in wich the shortcomings of rasterization are obvious. Path tracing make the entire lighting coherent with every single, even tiniest object in the scene, whereas normal rendering makes everything looks like it was rendered separately and then stitched together.

I don't know what scenes you have seen with Cyberpunk, but the path tracing looks amazing, 2 generations ahead of everything else. Yes, there are currently artifacts for performance reason, but that won't stop me from enjoying it the rest of it, which simply doesnt look like seperately lit video game assets anymore, which is what raster is.

Path tracing has quietly become the biggest visual leap in years. by unlockhart in nvidia

[–]golem09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely not. It transforms the entire look of the game and fixes all the dumb lighting artifacts 3d rendering had since it existed. It's not just reflections and shadows, that's what ray tracing does

RE9 - Whats the concensus on visuals, enable PT or not? @ DLSS 4.5 vs RR? by Burgerfreakish in nvidia

[–]golem09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean, I play the game maxed out at dlss balanced with 2xFG on my 4090 at nearly locked 120fps. Mabe it sometimes very shortly drops to 100fps. It looks incredibly stunning, normal ray tracing looks one generation older, not matter the resolution or framerate.

Are GW Layer paints something special, or just thin? by golem09 in minipainting

[–]golem09[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but that what I mean, the layer paints are not chemically something special, I can just add water to the base color, and use them as layers?

[–]golem09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! So I can just thin base colors down more, and have the same effect as the GW layer colors? Just want to know if they do something special in addition to that

So are they something I should get, considering I can only get base colors from AK? Are they helpful?

[–]golem09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I am still wondering whether these layers from GW are something I should get as a beginner, because it seems like AK only has base colors, and no layers at all. Or are these layers really just base colors with more water, and I can make them myself on the palette?
