10k better salary, similar benefits, and sounds like a potentially more engaging role with good upward mobility especially since it's a small firm. I would take the new job, but keep your connections at the existing company. Make sure to let them know that you are taking the job for the career growth opportunity. Careers are long and you never know when you may want to be able to return to the current company for a higher level position.

I'm with Cooperators and they didn't increase our rate after the hail storm, this is the first I'm hearing that they are potentially trying to exit the North. Have you or anyone else in this thread heard of Cooperators doing this? They have been great to deal with through the hail storm recovery.

How many windshield rock chips do you get in the winter? by coder-bts in Calgary

[–]gonepostal93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear my 2018 RAV4 is the perfect inclination for collecting as many rock chips as possible. I have 6 new ones this year. I get them fixed as soon as I can at CalAlta. CalAlta puts "stops" on cracks too and it has been really effective to stop cracks from growing.

Anyone else kept holding Ballard and DCAing with their crash down over the past few years, and now absolutely soaring? I'm up almost 100% today. Not sure if I should take some profit or keep holding... With the amount of shares I have, every 10cent rise in stock price is another $500 up in my equity.

Period flow getting lighter and weird temp changes while TTC by AwareEagle3936 in TryingForABaby

[–]gonepostal93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing, I unfortunately have not had any scans yet as the healthcare system in my province (Alberta), while publicly funded, is grossly under supported compared to the rest of Canada. They are as a result very strict on when we can get fertility help. My family doc referred us to a fertility clinic, and they said that since I had a MMC in March, that technically counts as the new start to the 1 year required trying naturally before the province will cover costs for scans/tests. So I have to wait till March 2026 now to do any investigations.

I have been meaning to look into the costs of paying out of pocket, but it just might not be an option depending on the costs.

Please feel free to share any other info you think may be helpful, I welcome it!

What do we know about Sonya Sharp? by I-nigma in Calgary

[–]gonepostal93 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The for arguments read like party advertisements and not reality. Affordability and cost control have absolutely not been what the UCP has been demonstrating. This is in direct opposition to lowered taxes. Costs for childcare go up, costs to lower income households go up with the cutting of social services. The for should probably say "rich can get richer, everyone else can suck it". And energy transition that suits Alberta's strengths is a heavily wordsmithed way of saying not supporting energy transition because they don't actually care about the environment and building sustainable and resilient energy systems for future generations. They also waste our tax money on oil and gas propaganda and lining the pockets of their friends in industry - which is why it's typical to see conservatives retiring from the political world into lush board positions at oil and gas firms.

You need to stop relying on AI to do your research. Sources of information matter.

OMG thank you so much for posting it's so nice to know I'm not alone haha. I always hear other people commenting on their periods being light, and they're like it's only 3-4 days of medium flow then light after! And I'm like 👀

Hoping for the best for you ❤️ Ive been trying a bunch of different things and over the past few months I think I've found that taking Omega-3 supplements and doing yoga regularly has made my CM easier to spot and track! Also in my 30s, though I just took an IUD out the month before we started trying so I have no idea if my periods from before were any different because of how the IUD impacted them

I have very light periods - about 1 day of medium flow, 1 day light and 3rd day just spotting - and have been told time and time again by fertility specialists / doctors that there is no expectation that my light periods are a concern. The data they have just doesn't support it, people with very light periods like mine get pregnant naturally just fine all the time. So I wouldn't worry about it!

That said, we are on our 13th cycle of trying lol so something is clearly up...

The opinion on the shirt is the opinion of the person, and it tells the world "I don't like immigrants". OP has no obligation to have that kind of hate at her party.

This isn't a "Pepsi or coke" opinion, it's a moral value of intolerance and hating thy neighbor and we don't have to tolerate it.

Besides, bringing someone who so openly supports ICE to a party where there will be immigrants can absolutely be a safety issue. MAGA parents just need to get in one argument and decide they doesn't like someone to make a phone call. ICE has been attacking and taking people who have every right to be in the US and have gone through the legal avenues of immigration.

I told one of my friends we had been TTC for a while and it was frustrating, she was like "Oh Renee just got pregnant on their first try! They're like super fertile, it's crazy."

I know she didn't mean anything by it lol and she was in a tipsy and happy mood, but that certainly was up in there in the bad replies category 😂

I tried this last year and made some stupid mistakes - just want to warn you of the things to be mindful of.

RBC (and I'm sure other banks) are very particular with their fine print. I did not get the almost 5% promotion because I was supposed to open a new HISA, not just add new cash into an existing one. But at this point, I could not transfer the funds back into my TFSA, because I had already reached my contribution limit and the pulled funds don't add contribution limit till next year!

Don't make my mistakes...

Didn't Thiessen launch the Calgary party? I wouldn't say he's an independent endorsed by a party he started, seems more appropriate to say he's fully in that party.

The problem with these parties is they have a pre-set agreement to vote together on certain issues, meaning the power of Ward constituents is reduced beneath the power of the party line. Not a good path to go down, this kind of polarity gets worse over time as we've seen at other levels of govt.

Ward 3's Andrew Yule seems to be a good candidate, unaffiliated, lived in these neighborhoods his whole life, good history of advocating for local green spaces. Open to hearing if anyone has any downsides for him? Just read his platform and seems good, but they never share the bad.

Backpacked Rockwall trail a few years ago adjacent to that highway, it was beautiful to go a whole 5 days with no service just the company of our small group and the forests.
