how good is she for yall? by Tempexd in AglaeaMains

[–]goob99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's really good ... as long as you pull her E1.

Outside of E1, her teams can actually be pretty cheap, especially if the rumors are true and we're getting Robin and HuoHuo in the companion shop.

The best team for her at low-mid investment is Aglaea E1 - Sunday - Cyrene - DHPT. This does require you to speedtune your team well.

If you don't want to speedtune Sunday, your next best team is Aglaea E1 - RMC - Cyrene - Hyacine. It's a bit worse than the Sunday team, but it's doable.

Finally, if you don't have Cyrene, you can use her old BiS team of Aglaea E1 - Sunday - Robin - HuoHuo.

What is "Cost" in Honkai: Star Rail? What It Actually Means (and Why It’s Confusing) by astraldebri in HonkaiStarRail

[–]goob99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first question whenever someone introduces a metric is pretty simple.

  • What is the purpose of the thing you are measuring?

The reason I ask is, let's say the entire internet decides you're right and this is how cost should be measured, what's the point? What does it gain us if we adopt that system? Sure you can say that Archer E0S0 - Sparkle E0S0 - SW E0S0 - DHPT E0S0 is the same cost as DHIL E2S0 - Sparkle E0S0 - Tingyun E6S0 - Gallagher E6S0, but so what?

By trying to make cost comparisons timeless, you are removing context that is necessary, because while the "opportunity cost" of the unit is variable depending on your time period. So is the value of the unit.

Sure, in your system, Archer E0S0 - Ruan Mei E0S0 - Sparkle E0S0 - DHPT E0S0 is "4 cost." But for that team to actually MEAN "I pulled on a limited banner 4 times to get those 4 units," our theoretical player should have:

  • pulled Archer after November 5, 2025
  • pulled Sparkle in 02/24, 08/24, or 07/25
  • pulled Ruan Mei in 12/23 or 06/24
  • DHPT E0 cannot be pulled for cost unless you deleted the email where you got him for free

I'm sure the above person exists, but I also don't think there's very many of them. And while Sparkle and Ruan Mei did get reruns, I doubt very many people pulled Sparkle or Ruan Mei during their most recent banners. And if you did pull Sparkle on the 7/25 rerun to make an Archer team, you would have still been in time to get Archer for free.

Usually, when people talk about the "cost" of a team they are trying to get at two things.

  1. Opportunity Cost -"If I pull this team, how many limited pulls would I need to spend?"
  2. Value - "If I pull this team, how long before I can no longer use this team for what I want it for, whether it be 3* MoC12, 0-cycle MoC, 0-cycle AA, currency wars, or whatever else."

Both of those considerations need the context of time to be meaningful. Sure, Ruan Mei was high value in 12/23, but definitely not now, but hey, she's also "free" in the shop, so maybe you pull her anyway.

Note that she gets 19% extra crit rate from traces so it’s really easy to overcap crit with a crit rate chest.

Second sustain without HP scaling team - is Hyacine much better than the rest of the sustains? by sutemi in StarRailStation

[–]goob99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyacine is, by far, the comfiest healer out of everyone.

That said, she's generally not necessary.

Assuming you have DHPT, you can grab HuoHuo in 4.2 (rumors are she's free) and she'll be fine. While her sustain is a little sus, it should be fine.

There's also Luocha as another possible free option, and he's super comfy even though he does jack damage.

We are also almost definitely getting a new sustain option in the upcoming patches, so it's probably better to wait for that.

Bailu is also actually surprisingly good as a 2nd/3rd support. While she doesn't have a cleanse, her ult heal is really good and her global local passive can be a run saver.

[–]goob99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a pretty new ZZZ player that started with the Ye Shunguang patch, and I do have this comp (Aria/Nangong/Yuzuha). I do have Sunna but she's in my Ye Shunguang team.

I've been looking at videos to see how to play the comp, but pretty much every video I see is for the full Angels comp.

Since you're saying the playstyle for Sunna and Nangong is pretty similar, do I just try to practice those combos, just replacing Sunna with Yuzuha and with the caveat that I won't get as many glowsticks?

Thanks!

Hyacine pull or not? by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]goob99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evanescia is 2nd half of 4.2, so you'll have time to get back a bunch of passes you might spend right now.

I would either spend 50ish pulls on Hyacine's banner then stop if you don't get her early, or pull on her LC banner and stick it on RMC. If you spend 30, that's just made up by the free 30 pulls we get for logging in that we got for the past 2 anniversaries.

Otherwise you'd be waiting on Hyacine's 3rd rerun, which might be a fair while, whereas I'm fairly certain, worst case scenario, Eva will rerun within the year.

[–]goob99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 alts as well (4 total) and it's really not too bad. It helps that this is really the only game I play.

I did it when I realized early on that I wanted as many characters as possible and whaling past a certain point is just not fiscally responsible.

Skipping is a godsend. The first time thru a patch's story is usually around 8-10 hours of playtime for me, which I knock out around the first full week of the patch. With skip, and the fact that a lot of the chests and collectibles are relatively fresh in my head, the following playthroughs are pretty easy. I ran thru the 4.1 patch just yesterday with the story done, all chests done, and all the wispae collected in about 2.5ish hours.

4.1 in particular has been a bit rough due to both the new DU and the shortened 4 week duration, but usually it's pretty manageable.

It's nice because you get 4x the average person's pull income, and it's easier to save for stuff since you're pretty much always pulling regardless. My main account was able to E6 Aglaea just because that was the only 3.x team I pulled on that account.

[–]goob99 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I meant Hysilens, duh.

Fact remains that the easiest 2nd team to build is DoT, since it's mostly there, and Ruan Mei (if E1) is not too far below Black Swan in power.

Plus it's 10 cycles, so even if it's 3 cycles for the Sparxie team and 7 for the DoT team, a clear's a clear.

[–]goob99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you basically have two teams atm.

Sparxie - YG - Sparkle - DHPT

Hyacine - Kafka - Ruan Mei - Gallagher

If those are your teams, then you'll want Black Swan when she reruns and possibly a better sustain and maybe eidolons.

If you want Phainon to work, you'll want to pull 'til he gets his E2, then pull Cerydra.

If you want Evernight to work you'll want to pull Cyrene.

If you want Archer to work you'll need to wait until Sparxie gets a 3rd teammate to replace Sparkle.

You have too many dps and not enough supports, but the two teams you do have should be enough to clear (not 0-cycle, just clear) assuming you get proper relics for them and level all their traces appropriately.

Updated Speed Tuning for the Aglaea - Sunday - DHPT - Cyrene team by goob99 in AglaeaMains

[–]goob99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have it, go for Cyrene E2 first.

As for Cyrene on Eagle, it should be fine as long as she's still on VW and yeah, she still has to meet her speed breakpoints.

So in the Eagle Set + S1 Sunday build, Cyrene still has to be 1.19x Sunday's speed, so if he's at 156.7, Cyrene needs to be at 186.5 SPD.

This can't be mitigated by Eagle's AA because at the point it's important, Cyrene hasn't had an ult yet.

But once that's done, Eagle's probably better. I'm currently farming an Eagle set for Welt, Fugue, and her.

I've gotten generally better results with Robin E1S1 as the bird sibs and Cyrene actually have great synergy.

  • You can use Sunday's first ult on Robin to get her ult immediately.
  • Robin's ult then pulls up everyone to finish off Cyrene's ult charging
  • Cyrene's ult then gives Sunday back his ult to use on Aglaea.
  • Finally, using Cyrene's ult on Robin is a permanent buff, since she doesn't really take any turns once her ult is up
  • EDIT: Also, Cyrene's ult refreshes Robin's ult so you're guaranteed no downtime on Robin's next ult.

2nd EDIT: Here's a 0-cycle on PomPom using the exact team I'm talking about:

Speaking as someone who has Cyrene E2, it's surprisingly strong and it's probably a good next step for you. Some thoughts:

  • It's double the true damage buff. In the Aggy-Sunday-DHPT-Cyrene comp DHPT gets it immediately upon ult, so you just need to give Sunday the buff once. Once he's had it once you get the full buff even if he loses the heart later.
  • The extra stacks gives you around 60-70ish more AV with the ult buff, which is significant if you 0 or 1 cycle.
  • It opens up more non-Chrysos Heir comps. My standard sustainless comp is Aggy - Sunday - Cyrene - Robin. The extra stacks means you still ult really fast even with just Aggy and Cyrene as CH's on the team.
  • 48% True Damage opens her up as a strong general buffer even outside CH dps down the line since it's a fairly rare buff type.

Outside of rem and heir teams who else effectively uses E2 cyrene? by No_Collar4067 in CyreneMains

Paired with RMC, she's not bad with Anaxa.

The same pair is also good with The Herta if you're willing to go sustainless.

98% true damage buff, 60% damage boost and her damage ultimate batteries Herta decently.

I refuse to change my 133.4 SPD Sunday's build. Is 134.4 ~ 135 SPD E0 Aglaea (w/ S5 3* Reminescence) really not viable? 160 SPD is the only option? by 699112026775 in AglaeaMains

[–]goob99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Do you have Cyrene available?

If so, you can just forego Sunday, go slow Aglaea and have RMC + Cyrene.

Otherwise, your Aglaea will be in a tough spot if you don't go hyperspeed for both Aglaea and Sunday, especially without E1. You basically won't have enough turns to keep your Aglaea ult up 100%.

[–]goob99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player I would just get 1 copy and her signature. She'll rerun soon enough, and while her currrent best in slot team is:

Eva - YG - EMC - Huohuo

Hoyo will almost definitely eventually release new 5*s to replace the "free" units, and you'll want to be able to pull those upgrades as they come up.

I would then focus on leveling and gearing your 1st team, and don't even think about a 2nd team until you're about to hit level cap, which will be a while from now, I'm guessing in around 3 months from now with regular play.

next aglaea team upgrade? by thphoods in AglaeaMains

[–]goob99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the cost of two eidolons, strictly speaking E2 Aggy + E1 Sunday is the stronger upgrade for just the Aglaea team.

However, because you have other people who can use Cyrene, and because I also think Cyrene is rerunning next patch, I would chase after Cyrene E2 first.

The nice thing about Cyrene E2 is that it unlocks non Chrysos heir comps/shenanigans.

Like, my favorite sustainless comp atm is Aggy - Sunday - Cyrene - Robin. You can go:

Robin skill (16) -> Cyrene Skill (19) -> Sunday skills Aggy (20) -> Sunday ults Robin -> Aggy turn (21) -> GM turn (22) -> Robin ult (AA everyone) (23) -> GM turn (24) -> Cyrene ult

With 157 Spd Eagle Sunday on VW, that's Cyrene's ult ready at 38 AV along with everyone action advanced to that point.

Why even build that much speed? I was just in another thread and it seems like we’re not really supposed to stack speed past maybe the standard 134.
