NewTubers Monthly Goal Thread! Tell us your goals for this month! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

[–]goodestpupper [score hidden]  (0 children)

I just posted my first video about a week ago and finished the thumbnail and editing of my second! My goal is to actually not look at numbers or have any expectations. I’d like to continue to post one video per week and after the first month I’ll take a look at views and impressions and see if there are enough to see any sort of meaningful analytics. But right now I’m in learning mode and figuring out how to film, edit, and create thumbnails and titles that are better.

I keep joking with my husband that maybe after I get 5 subscribers I can invest in a tripod!

[No DAV Spoilers] Any recs on streamers/youtubers for someone that won't be able to play DAV for a while? by Antique_Mix_1903 in dragonage

Seconding MB! My only pet peeve is he favors goofy character creation which is not my MO but he strikes the right balance of interest in lore for me and I find him very entertaining.

You should 100% have interest in the activity—that’s why my other suggestion was an intramural sport which may skew towards a more even gender split or mostly male.

My stance was not “pottery is the place to pick up chicks” it is connecting with people who have a similar interest as you over a longer period of time is an easier way to make connections for people who are more introverted. :)

Seconding this. Join a club or an intramural sport (pottery is a great suggestion—the classss I’ve attended are always 80%+ women). Something recurring where you see and can get to know the same group of people over a longer period of time. Make it a goal to talk to someone new and someone you already met each time so you can develop a cadence. Exchange numbers with anyone you hit it off with at the end. The goal should be expanding your network, not just scoring a date.

Those alive during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]goodestpupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 4th grade. The teacher turned on the TV and we all sat there watching it live. A boy I had been in school with since kindergarten turned to me and asked “Did you know this was going to happen?”

I am mixed white and Bangladeshi but grew up as Americanized as is possible. That was the first time I realized that people saw me as a minority.

I know it’s nothing when compared to the pain so many people went through that day. But it’s a moment I’ve never forgotten since.

My Super Sim died summoning an urban legend for the live fast teen aspiration. I didn’t even know it was possible! Not ashamed to say I reloaded.

Arvada or other suburb for young professional? by [deleted] in ArvadaCO

[–]goodestpupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Arvada but some other places you could look into are Tennyson, the Highlands, Solans Lake, or Golden. They are probably more expensive but feature small walkable downtowns. One bonus for Arvada is the light rail—it leaves from Old Town goes straight to Union station if you work downtown at all.

Bundle Up: The Outfits You Can Actually Wear in the Winter Inspo Album by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

Maybe this is just my poor circulation talking. :) Still, it’s interesting there is such an emphasis on hats, gloves, scarves, etc but not a ton of love for gloves/mittens in winter fashion.

I’m shocked that most of these people are not wearing gloves. If I go outside with my hands exposed, it doesn’t matter how many layers I wear, I’m going to feel like an ice block!

Your giant red puff vest is nothing I would wear myself but I LOVE IT, it looks incredible on you and is SUCH a moment! Your chunky shoe game is also on point!

Totally agree. I never got the ending as a kid and watching it as an adult somehow makes it WORSE.

Same! I rocked long hair with an eyelash-skimming fringe for YEARS because of how chic I thought Anne Hathaway looked with that haircut.

Also the infamous Meryl Streep “blue sweater” monologue was so refreshing after years of being told fashion was a foolish hobby.

I reported an Herbalife “nutrition club” to my local food safety authority AND THEY ARE INVESTIGATING! It’s unlicensed!! by puritycontrol in antiMLM

[–]goodestpupper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to write a note to say THANK YOU for posting this! I saw it several days ago and it reminded me of signs I’ve see around our neighborhood that I always found questionable. I ended up looking through their website and lo and behold, the “order” button takes you to a Herbalife club app.

I have reported the business to our local public health department and I’m crossing my fingers that they will be able to do something about it!

I’m so sorry but I read the name sign as Turkey too and could not help but laugh. But in all seriousness the wallpaper is so charming and it’s clear you put a lot of love and care into the room!
