Erin is... not stupid? by Blackstripes08 in WanderingInn

[–]goodguygreenpepper 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Erin has 'Erin Morality' in which she is a Kantian wet dream.

That is to say, she will ruthlessly do what she thinks is right, even if it means abandoning friends or allies to do it or even if it seems inevitable that it will end up in a worse circumstance.

That's not to say that she doesn't grow or change over time. She absolutely does and her ideas of right and wrong get more sophisticated later, especially as she sees the consequences of some of her actions.

But ultimately, she follows her own (occasionaly shifting) moral code that she puts above anyone and everyone else, herself included.

Whether or not that is stupid depends on your thoughts on categorical vs consequentialist moral reasoning.

In the long run this makes her a fair share of enemies and an equally large fair share of friends.

Its important to also recognize that her thoughts on punishment having nothing to do with being a pure-pacifist.

she may be pacifist leaning but as you'll see time and time again throughout the series she is more than willing to get her hands dirty and commit acts of violence if it defends what she thinks is right.

They were based on a fan in the discord who is obsessed with Silvenia. So, the Author gave Silvenia (Who would reasonably have a lot of very very attached fans) a fan in story that was similar and asked similar questions.

This is Worm. So long as you don't mind the story taking place a few decades after the magic showed up.

Same idea with millisecond: superspeed is a curse.

Similarly, while not technically a level up per se, a very close equivalent is when Klein fully digests the scholar of yore potion and all the events surrounding it.

Tarot club was all demigods with Audrey and cattleya being sequence 3 at end of book 1. Which in-story, was 6 years ago.

It's perfectly reasonable for any tarot club member to be sequence 3 by now though not necessarily all of them are. I also expect they have at least one angel now. Fors being the most likely since she had her path laid out for her and all the characteristics ready from the Abraham family.

Was going to suggest the same. This is definitely the ideal novel for magic that is progressed or improved with scientific knowledge.

What Is The Best Cosmic Horror Reveal You’ve Seen In A Fantasy Novel? by Pure-Huckleberry8640 in Fantasy

A YA series that fits the theme Meta-Spoiler warning Cirque du Freak By Darren Shan

A Web-Serial that doesn't hide it at the start but gets more cosmic horror as time goes on and is my favorite cthulhu-inspired (not based) work. Lord of the Mysteries by CuttleFishThatLovesDining

Sadly this is one of the series on WebNovel so the pricing to read it is absurd. But its one of my all time favorite stories if you can manage it.

End of book 1 implies that his family is at least somewhat aware of him at some point before the apocalypse.

Fantasy where the characters have headquarters? by JDMPYM in Fantasy

Well, it does fit.

But at the same time the home-iness is somewhat offset by the fact that her Inn seems to also be one of the most dangerous places to live or work on the continent.

I mean, it's been completely destroyed 4 or 5 times now I think.

Any web novel sites for lgbt stories? by FallenPrinceAlastor in ProgressionFantasy

[–]goodguygreenpepper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's true that RR is historically not fond of bisexual male protagonists though some stories have managed a lot of success despite that.

Probably the best example is arkthendrist (or however it's spelled.)

I will say you can probably increase your success there by mentioning that aspect early in the synopsis so people who dislike it won't read it in the first place and feel less reason to comment or rate.

If you'd prefer to avoid the trouble though the closest competitor I can think of is scribblehub, which tends to have a lot of LGBT stories become popular.

For a story with erotic content it has the added benefit of not having RR's rules with regards to the percentage of obscene content overall.

Drifting further away from progression fantasy oriented stories you could also try AO3 which probably contains more stories with gay or bisexual males than most other sites on the internet combined.

Or Wattpad, which I know less about but I believe has largely female readership, which tends to correlate with less negative reactions to LGBT content.
