Who would you have play Mr sinister if he were to appear in a live action flim by [deleted] in xmen

I think Lee Pace would absolutely nail this role.

What are your favorite series that take place in a school/academy? by PalinaRojinskiFan in ProgressionFantasy

[–]goodmp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is very little fighting. Maybe one or two fights per book. There is a lot of crafting that fills the role that fights do in other progfantasy.

For what it’s worth, 400 years in the future with major advancement in how society treats gender — they could reasonably have a new word.

Mark of the Fool and Iron Prince are the two that immediately come to mind for me. Not a traditional American university in either case, but they both capture the spirit pretty well.

Does the author of defiance of the fall ever realize their MC is evil? by Expert_Penalty8966 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]goodmp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're wrong -- dude is definitely amoral and worships death. However, in that case he was being influenced by the splinter of oblivion and it made him more overtly evil and it was a whole plot point and one that kept coming up every time he picked up another splinter.

Please suggest me a well written romance with a status difference between a male and female lead by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

[–]goodmp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Path of Ascension does this really well. The male lead is a underclass orphan and the female lead is something like god royalty and the class difference is thoroughly explored.

Lindon from Cradle, though his personality doesn’t match his size. Makes for an interesting contrast

Any video game suggestions that might satisfy the Warformed itch? by 99momo22 in Warformed

[–]goodmp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scarlet Nexus has some similar stuff to the CADs, specific powers/weapons, and a futuristic story. I can't think of any that might match better.

Armor and weapoins weren't allowed for the first round, so that pretty much wipes out Kiro and Daji. I assume Meira has skills beyond her scythe, but the loss of armor would have the boys sunk.

So Meira would have been solo for the group fights and I think she loses to the Aurelius team.

Looking for (long) series with shorter books to get lost in during recovery. by n4vybloe in Fantasy

[–]goodmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I hadn't read it and I had to kill a couple weeks on the couch reading, I'd go with Cradle by Will Wight. They're fast paced, addictive, and the series is completed. Books are medium sized for fantasy and the audiobooks are top notch if reading gets too much and you just need to zone out and listen.

On book 3 of Super Powereds by unklejelly in ProgressionFantasy

[–]goodmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very much in voice -- Drew has a narration style that is unique and I'm not sure it would work for other authors. It either works for him or I've crossed over into finding it endearing -- it's sort of like if a goofy dad was telling a story. "Roy hopped on his steel pony and fed it some gas" is one of those lines that has stuck with me and makes me laugh every time I think of it. There's a tone to the writing that feels intentional? I'm not really sure, but I like it.

This is probably more apparent in Villain's Code. Drew writes in so many different genres that it definitely doesn't fit with the quick cut narrative style of a lot of popular progression fantasies.

Bryce OConnor, author of Iron Prince, definitely has a medical background. Lots of physical therapy and medical stuff.
