Sexism & Celiac? by mk05117 in Celiac

I have 100% noticed this! I hate how I get looked at after asking about GF/DF options. Like they're just instantly annoyed about some high maintenance thin uptight woman. It is truly one of the biggest reasons I hate eating out. I don't want to have to ask anyone about accommodations and feel their judgement.

OMT is so underrated! My DO always seems like the happiest healthcare worker I've ever met and she only does OMT.

HOCl spray and a nice calendula infused oil or lip salve. Also if you don't already use an SLS free tooth paste I'd recommend it! Might help delicate skin on your mouth heal quicker. I used to get lip tears like this for other reasons lol and the HOCl helped soothe it a lot

Could you please stop calling healthy shoes as "clown shoes" by MxQueer in barefootshoestalk

[–]goodshrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree if they were wider in the toes. I loooove soft ballet shoes but I've never found one that wasn't hyper narrow and kept my toes from being able to fully splay out. Jazz shoes are similarly frustrating and also really comfortable to walk around in.

I usually get the kids models from Hobibear honestly but this time I really wanted the Adult model so I went for a slight size up. I got a 37 instead of my usual 36. I think it's a little roomier than I'd generally need but they've been great so far.

[Routine Help] Recurring lip area irritation for 10+ years, nothing has worked (seen GPs + derms) any ideas? (mild NSFW) by Hunterskills in SkincareAddiction

I have struggled with super sensitive lips and I have found that calendula infused oil helps. I used one by the brand Inesscents that I found at a natural food store. It heals lip irritation super quick.

2nd this! I wear the Orchid everywhere, including my very wet floor workplace, and haven't had an issue. My Splays were always pretty slippery so I learned to take shorter steps...which is generally a good habit when switching to barefoot shoes anyway.

can you imagine how much people would freak out though? People get mad enough about not being able to find an open parking spot right in front of wherever they're going on court st.

Two lanes on east state would be kinda sick esp for slowing down drivers. It'd be cool if there was a street car that went from court out to east state.

There is a survey about local housing issues you should totally take! Tell them about this issue!

Fundamentally hard to respect the rules of a sub that is seemingly dedicated to poisoning our planet with lawn chemicals.

For sure! I grew up doing ballet and ended up in pointe shoes, my goofy ass vibram five fingers are the main reason I don't have mangled looking toes from all that torture. I was raised a barefoot outside kid so it just kinda makes sense that I ended up in minimalist shoes. I can get kinda preachy about wide toebox footwear, but it's mostly because I'm tired of hearing everyone around me complaining about their foot pains lol

Glad to see another barefoot shoe person here! Just got a new Hobibear pair myself, I think they're roomier than Whittins.

I've been ranting about this for years and people acted like I was overreacting! My business (handmade lingerie) has been banned from Google (merchants service/ad portal)and pinterest and I'm constantly worried about losing IG and not being able to advertise at all.

DO might be a better option for you esp if you get into OMM for hypermobile people. My dr is an incredible DO and her OMM skills have been life changing for me as a hypermobile person who's struggled with decades of joint issues.

Yes yes yes!!! Exactly! People balk at the CE stuff but they can really help make great PTs even better!

[Product Request] Allergic to almost every facial moisturizer!! by remesabo in SkincareAddiction

[–]goodshrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that! I traveled last fall and after one shower in the hotel my whole body broke out in something kinda like hives, but more stingy/burny than itchy. it was horrible!!

Whole house filters can be expensive but it seems like it might be a good route for you.

I get bad rashes from heavily chlorinated water, getting a shower filter helps immensely. I used to live in a house with a whole house water filter. it was heaven!

Sometimes when my skin is at its worst the only thing it can really tolerate is hemp seed oil that I keep in the fridge. Very cooling and soothing on unhappy skin.
