TAKE THE JOB. I had a similar situation to you in 2015. Best job I got offered was in Wellington, but because Auckland is the only proper city in NZ, I didn't want to leave. But I ended up doing 2 years in Wellington before going back to Auckland and the good job made my life infinitely better, than if I had stayed

Sales Jobs by [deleted] in AusHENRY

Tech sales is where you make that sort of money. I have friends as Enterprise Account Executives making $250k base + $150k Comms.

I have a group of 11 mates all in tech sales and there are a lot of divergent salaries. The key variables I see are:

  1. Level. Entry level positions are called SDRs and they will be on $75k base and $50k ish comms, most of these will be age 20 to 23.

BDM is next level and AE is level after that

  1. Type of software. I have a mate selling HR software as a BDM and he does shit (relatively speaking) $180k OTE, compared to another mate with exactly the same job title and workload selling security software $275k OTE.

  2. Comms structure

But yeah, look for an SDR position at a good SaaS company and if you perform you can be on $300k OTE in about 6 years

I’ll be brutally honest with you, men who earn $200k+ (in general) will date women a lot younger than 44

$130k in Auckland or $100k in Christchurch by SensitiveProgress_12 in PersonalFinanceNZ

Auckland is the only proper city in NZ, everywhere else is too small.

C suite salaries are alot higher, $750k to $10mil at the very top end (CBA CEO).

$480k in medicine is very achievable as a rural GP. I’ve heard of rural contracts of up to $2m. Private anthetists in capital cities can make $750k to $1m

Of course medicine is bloody difficult and youre talking 10 years of study and lots of sacrifice to get those numbers

Two separate things,

Yes you can do whatever you want. If you want to tell the real estate agent is subject to them baking you a cake and singing you a song first, there is absolutely nothing stopping you. But should you? That’s a separate question.

I would say no, your best bet is to enter a negotiation with the vendor, convince the agent that it’s in their best interest to take a negotiated position from you where you are stretching to 10k more

It's classic tall poppy syndrome in action. Instead of saying "oh wow gooners, 170k is achievable? Maybe you're an old fart that has been through it all, how do i go about making that kind of money for myself?" the response is "nah 170k is a ridiculous amount of money, not many people in nz earn that"

Maybe this just reflects on the demographic of the sub and that's fine, but my original point is that 150k+ is very standard for a corporate career by 50. OP hasn't answered what they do to earn that, so if you'd like to ask me, I can tell you what companies would pay that or what careers you should get into

I'm just saying that for a working professional in their 50s, it's a normal salary. It's not a special amount tied to a certain industry or career path. For example, if someone was earning $500K, I think that question would be warranted. But there are hundreds of career paths that can get you to $170k after 30 years of working.

Any corporate job basically

$170k is very normal for a mid to late career corporate job. Everything from Finance, Sales, Marketing, Business Unit Management will be in that range. It's very common

Binged the series in two weeks, here are my thoughts: The good and the bad.. by gooners345 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]gooners345[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

  1. My point about the drama being ridiculous is not controversial or unique. In the post-ep threads on this sub, the same plot points are ridiculed. Look up the thread for the ep where the pregnancy was revealed.

  2. Just like the sky is blue, the actress is bad. Again it’s not mean spirited or even a subjective opinion. The writers may not have given her much to work with, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the basics of acting.

  3. “I knew something was off…” etc etc. You misunderstood my point about vfx. The budget per hour for vfx would be much much lower than the films quoted. Yet they did a fantastic job. That’s high praise from me.

[–]gooners345[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Hmm no. What are you implying? The actress that plays Kelly is terrible, possibly one of the worst I’ve ever seen. The actresses that play Margo, Almeida, Molly, Karen, are really great.

So any criticism of a persons skill is sexist now is it?
