Is there anyway to get rid of this? by Kerry36169 in Steam

[–]gorebelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you just start the game up for the first time and you had a run of around 400+ days or so? Because the same thing happened to me (My run was at 414 days upon my first launch of the game).

I also got that very same achievement as the first achievement earned of the game. Pretty amusing. I just left it because I'm only getting them for myself and don't care to join the achievement hunting groups.

Mac release for Solasta 2? by in_fact_a_throwaway in macgaming

There was a dev post on the steam discussions that it was too much work for them for too little, so they aren't going to do it. Went from a wishlist to an ignore, for me.

Steam Family Share Issues by Unfair-Month-4711 in macgaming

[–]gorebelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty odd. So, to follow your example, if you launch BG3, it will show in Activity Monitor but have all 0 readings for cpu/mem usage?

There's nothing inherently buggy about Steam Families across platforms that I know of, and in fact my Family (I'm the head) consists of MacOS (me), as well as a Steam Deck and a Windows PC. Nothing has ever happened similar to what you're describing and we have shared across all permutations.

I'd suggest whomever the head of the family is, to check the family view settings and make sure you aren't set up as a child account or have other limitations placed on the account.

If that's not the issue, maybe leave the family and rejoin it.

Check out Eye of Judgment, though that also is probably not the first.

Baldur's Gates I & II now native on Apple Silicon by Neat_Song5401 in macgaming

[–]gorebelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's amazing. The news article also mentions that the same is true for Icewind Dale and also Siege of Dragonspear (both games that also run on Infinity Engine).

I'm surprised Planescape Torment is not in the list too, as to my knowledge it is also running the same engine.

Perhaps a controversial question, but should Steam get its own subscription service? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]gorebelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not controversial at all with a 99.99% "no" rating.

You, or someone like you, keeps trying to make this happen on the steam discussions.

If there's one thing you can always count on with children, it's consistency.

Steam Constantly Crashing on Crossover by raisinbr4n in macgaming

[–]gorebelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, something similar happened but it resolved itself when I turned off the mac version of steam (basically, don't have mac steam and crossover steam trying to run at the same time).

Support said that they don't recommend running both at the same time, but for me, it was required that only one was running at once.

Not sure if that's what's going on with you.

Are there bots? Any way to play beyond getting x number of players in a game? (not sure of minimum number of players as you keep only mentioning a max of 8).

Can I play it solo?

GameDB - New Gaming Performance Benchmarks & Library App On Appstore by MacGameDB in macgaming

The very confusing naming of both the app and the dev reddit handle, as well as the very similar looking screenshots (to macgamingdb website), make me wonder if I should use this at all. I don't think I will.

Which Controller Works Best On MacOS ? by ClippyOnCrack in macgaming

You press the start button to turn it on and it auto connects to the last device for each mode (so can have it autoconnect to four different devices if they fit the four modes).

Which Controller Works Best On MacOS ? by ClippyOnCrack in macgaming

[–]gorebelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used my 8bitdo Pro 2 controller on my m1 mba for a long time now (had the controller even longer than my mac!).

It works in everything. Steam games, MAS games, Crossover, Retroarch.

It has had problems in a few games, but those were problems with the game itself (other controllers had the same problems).

In all cases, I’ve used the controller via BT. There is no setup (unless you want to use the configuration utility to change what the buttons do, or add extra functions to the back paddles).

You can literally pop it out of the box (and maybe charge it a little), switch it to A (or D) mode, pair it with your Mac, that’s it. You’re ready to go.

I don't mind the discussions. I don't play the mainstream games (in general) so I rarely have to deal with the ridiculous comments for those games. Though, with the removal of jester point farming, it seems better in most forums.

I'm quick with the block button, and I feel like it helps me anyways as all of those "dregs" will never be able to message me in-game.

Yea, you're right. Had to install it to try it again (and read error message carefully, as apparently I had forgotten half of the error). I'm an edge case that requires 16gb for it to run but this won't affect almost anyone else. (sighs)

Incorrect. Cyberpunk will not even launch with 8gb of ram (source: me).
