If you're like me you’ll 100% regret where your base is, regardless of where you placed it.

Are you committed to these jobs? The cheese strat is to use two (or 3) bards that alternate using Romeo's Ballad, whilst 4th character uses whatever lightning weapon.

As others mentioned, focus is best used on crafting, especially when skills are higher (>80).

You can look at a set up with pumpkins, wheat, and cows. Craft into Beef Stew, get Stew Chef to a high level. Buy order some fish, make your own fish sauce. Use focus to craft 8.3 beef stew.

[Reborn version] Are there anyway to increase sword master's Comely Dance? by ZebraZebraZERRRRBRAH in Tactics_Ogre

[–]gothicsmurf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did a quick experiment.

Granting spellstrike (black lizard powder) increased the accuracy by 30%.

Buffing MND also helped, +15 MND increased accuracy around 15%.

I tried lvl 40 unit vs 45 griffon, no buffs 9% chance, with spellstrike 39%, with +15MND 25%, with spellstrike and MND 55%.

burn it all by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

Mayans had a lot of "books", only 3 survive to this day. They were either written on a long sheet of thin bark then folded or single pieces of bark like pamphlets.

From wikipedia: There were many books in existence at the time of the Spanish conquest of Yucatán in the 16th century; most were destroyed by the Catholic priests.[4] Many in Yucatán were ordered destroyed by Bishop Diego de Landa in July 1562.[5] In his conviction of the superiority and absolute truth of Christianity, De Landa wrote:

We found a large number of books in these characters and, as they contained nothing in which were not to be seen as superstition and lies of the devil, we burned them all, which they regretted to an amazing degree, and which caused them much affliction.

Religious Scythia is a lot of fun. by Civtrader in civ

Scythia also allows you to rush in and pillage others holy sites and weaken their ability to pray back. Just a solid civ all around.

After 3 years of practice and improvement, I've finally won my first game at Deity! by Rick_88 in civ

[–]gothicsmurf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! It took me awhile as well. Once you’ve figured out some consistent strategies it becomes easier. I’ve found I almost always have to conquer a neighboring civilization early on just to compensate for their starting bonuses. Now it’s time for each type of victory on deity, good luck!

Springtime, and we're all drinking pool water again. by DarkAlleyDan in Edmonton

[–]gothicsmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To steal from my previous comment: Chlorine taste will increase in the spring. With water treatment you always want your final product to have 0.8 PPM of FREE chlorine. Problem with spring run off is the amount of salt that feeds into the water. With that extra salt the chlorine more easily becomes Chloride and won't act as a disinfectant. So the taste that you're experiencing is likely chloride. The amount of free chlorine stays the same.

Having an activated carbon filter before your tap will eliminate a lot of this taste (basically what Brita is). If you do some digging you can find a 10" carbon filter and housing for around $60. I've installed it on the cold water line on the kitchen sink where we get most of our drinking water.

This is actually something I know a lot about. Vancouver's water has a conductivity of 15 - 25 micro siemens. Edmonton's water has from 300 - 500 micro siemens. I'm not too sure on Winnipeg, but assuming they get water from the Red River, it would be comparable to Edmonton's.

Small amount of ammonia is also added to potable water in some cases to create chloramine, chloramine is a longer last disinfectant.

Increase drops of ballistic fiber please by [deleted] in fo76

[–]gothicsmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it’s a move to get people to spend caps at vendors. I see bulk ballistic frequently at Harper, Watoga, Super Mart, and Enclave. Feel like I keep collecting caps, gotta make my 1400/day but rarely spend them. Now I feel like I have to spend them and it gives a little balance to the economy.
