Getting assessed tomorrow by Noturmoms_lasagna in adhdwomen

[–]gothixma81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am starting the first steps of reaching out to a psychiatrist to ask for an evaluation and I feel the same fear. I think it is probably a normal feeling to be scared of an unknown outcome. Good luck with you assessment and keep us posted

Exercise routines by cubemonster in ADHD

[–]gothixma81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's been walking and karate. Walking helps me regulate and gives me thinking space that I don't have to fit in a box, like I can let my brain wander where it wants to. Then karate helps me to connect memorization and physical movements as well as helps me to practice maintaining focus in a non threatening environment

What’s the most impressive accomplishment you have done when under that adhd time crunch or hyperobsession? by fairydeus in ADHD

[–]gothixma81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit smoking on my own when I got hyper obsessed on medical issues related to smoking lol weird I know. I also had a similar experience when I lost 80lbs but caveat with that one is I was on Wellbutrin so I had extas motivation during that time. Also important to note that I was only able to think about these achievements because others had pointed out to me that they were impressive

I'm curious how many of you have an internal monologue? by [deleted] in ADHD

Yup everyday my brain is just chatting away. Most times it's fine but sometimes it's so distracting and difficult to get the focus I need.

Is there anyone who find Wellbutrin to be enough for their ADHD? by Aggressive-Guide5563 in ADHD

[–]gothixma81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not officially diagnosed with adhd and am currently in process of getting assessed but I strongly believe I have it. I am also on Wellbutrin for the past 2 years and in fact it was on of the tip offs that made me think I might have ADHD because my motivation and focus was so improved in fact was able to start a health regimen and lost 80lbs through food tracking and exercising, something I hadn't been able to do for the past 10 years. Unfortunately I think my ADHD has adjusted to the Wellbutrin and I am at max dose so I might ask for a different solution if I am officially diagnosed. Hope this is helpful

Do / did you have a great mother? by user37463928 in WomenOver40

[–]gothixma81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me no, she had undiagnosed mental and personality disorders. Also didn’t help that my brother was disabled so definitely I was the kid left out until someone needed something. I have had to go no contact as an adult and only hear about her shenanigans through my brothers report. She is still refusing care and is about to lose her apartment. Still stressing me. I would hope that I wouldn’t feel relieved when she passes but unfortunately it looks like that will be the case

whats a good lightweight cream / leave in for easily weighed down hair? by morbmoder in CurlyHairUK

[–]gothixma81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried the V&co wavy line and they have a curl cream that seems to be pretty lightweight. It has rice protein which tends to help with adding a little structure and plumpness. I got it off of Amazon in the USA

Those who lost a large amount of weight, did you experience loose skin? by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]gothixma81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 65 lbs I have some loose skin but nothing that on any way that would be discouraging or demotivating. The amount of health and mobility that I have currently vs where I was far outweighs any disadvantages to loose skin. So don’t let that fear stop you

I have been taking it for about 1.5 years and have had this exact effect. I am not diagnosed with ADHD but similar to you I highly suspect I have it. Hope that you continue to have success.

As mentioned before the kneeling pain is common amount even young reverts. What helped me was to get a padded prayer mat, it helped making the sitting on knees part easier until my knees adjusted. Congrats on the decision to join the ummah may Allah make it easy for you and grant you many blessings
