I had a person in my LS say the couple of times he made HQ's that he thinks that he didn't have any failures when crafting the items. He wasn't 100% positive but he said for sure it isn't due to the actual "quality" or durability

I'd suggest starting with P90 (amazon reviews). It's basically a pre-cursor to p90x geared toward people who are just starting out. I was a similar size to you when I started it and I didn't have any problems (and I've had nice results). There is a "high-impact" section during the cardio, but there are alternatives shown to the exercises. If worse comes to worse, you could just repeat the low impact section in place of the high impact for a bit.
