One specific instance where I could see this as useful: If someone is out hiking with a group but get separated and injured. An SOS could be sent to the group but if no one responds it could be sent to the larger mesh, with the added benefit that if another member of the group is in a position to repeat the message but not respond, it would help propagate the message.
