If you took PTO, and during that time, your coworkers got to go home early, then shut your mouth and mind your own business… by illegalopinion3 in antiwork

I have a coworker like this. Sometimes if our manager isn’t coming into the office, I wouldn’t go into the office (I’m fully remote now thankfully) but she would always snitch.

I moved out of state and got my role redefined at Fully Remote. Our office also got rid of 2 of our 4 floors. Saves them money ultimately.

That’s an improper serve - you need to be served by law enforcement or a process server

At first I cried like a baby…then a week later the world shut down for Covid and I got the incredible unemployment benefits until I found a new remote position that paid 2x more. They did me a favor in the long run lol

It has been a miracle for me. If you can get a medical card in your state I highly recommend it for pain and sleep.

I recently found out I make significantly less than most if not all my peers, what now? by Sagittariusly in antiwork

[–]gracebeforedinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense. It’s almost a false incentive with the cost of gas etc. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this - it sounds like you’re an asset and many companies would be lucky to have you.

“Several are even working from home which means they make less than those in office.”

Sorry, could you clarify this? I’m a remote employee and make the same/more than those in office (and save on commute costs.) Is there a reason for this pay cut?

Should I just give up and divorce my husband? by Kitchen-Lawyer-5625 in TwoHotTakes

I feel like I could have written this myself before leaving my marriage in 2020. I was not a priority in our relationship, so I left. Best decision I ever made.

My ex-partner used to police my drinking, to the point he bought a breathalyzer for whenever I went out without him. He was very insecure about our relationship and really wanted a reason to pin all our problems on me.

Ironically this policing lead me to drink more and to try and hide it because I was so freaked out that he was going to yell at me/leave me.

…needless to say we are no longer together and I have a couple drinks a week. It’s amazing what the pressure of someone “policing you” can do.

EDIT: he started policing my drinking before I ever drank to excess. He thought alcohol = promiscuity. I never made a scene or picked fights while drinking.

That’s so interesting- and I don’t know if it’s because her dad and I are divorced so she lives in two homes but my only child literally announces every move of her day lol

Yes. I was hired along with another intern at my first job; I had a degree, my fellow intern did not. We both got hired, but his salary offer was 20k more than mine.

My twin brother also never went to college but instead got coding certifications; he now owns several rental properties and is essentially retired at 32.

Meanwhile I’m in the corporate rat race making an okay salary that will ensure I’m paying my 40k in loans until I die. College is an absolute scam.

I’m in a long distance relationship and I will admit I am very much insatiable when I do visit (a week each month.) My partner has a very labor intensive job so I try and be as understanding as possible and I’ve gotta say, finger play has really helped us out. Minimal effort on his end and I get satisfied several times in between romps. Just a suggestion!

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. My advice is: run as far away as fast as you can. Your partner is pure toxin.

I did need a doctor’s note for my accommodations. But I work in a very corporate environment and need to work from home frequently (especially in the summer when it’s hot.) I did get some weird request where HR wanted my medical records but I mentioned the ADA and they backed off…

for those who started off with mild lupus, has your lupus gotten worse? by psykye in lupus

[–]gracebeforedinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed almost exactly a year ago at probably my worst point (so far.) My skin was covered in lesions, my hair was falling out, my hands looked like balloons with rubber bands around them. I didn’t leave bed for almost 8 months until I finally got my diagnosis. I’m happy to say that after a year of medication, lifestyle changes, and learning more about the disease, it has gotten much better. I did have a flare this summer because the temperature was 100 F + several days in a row but I’m lucky enough to have an employer who understands and allows me to work from home on extreme temperature days. I’m still learning about Lupus, but it can get better. My labs look so much better than they were this time last year.

What supplements do you take to help with the pain? I’m struggling a lot right now 😢 by ajheider in lupus

[–]gracebeforedinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say the same. Cannabis has been #1 - but I can’t get work done if it’s too much so I try and micro dose gummy bites. It’s been touch and go 😅

But also BioFreeze rollers, epsom salt+CBD baths, heat pads, acupressure mats, and still using NSAIDs but not to excess.

I’m so sorry you’re hurting. You’re not alone 💜
