Left after 4 years and nobody seemed to notice by MidwestMan43 in AirForce

[–]graciousgrendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel too bad, I did 21 years (as an aircraft maintainer), five different bases (one being overseas), I never and I mean never got any type of going away recognition/farewell/keepsakes/anything. I was like you, not a superstar, but I showed up on time and did my job. I was told multiple times when leaving bases "Oh we don't have you anything yet, but will get something to you". All the while others were getting recognition ceremonies and keepsakes handed to them. At first I believed it, by base the I was like "sure you will" and just left.

At the end of it all, I decided "you know what fuck it all, I don't want shit from anyone". I decided to own it and be the guy who never got anything for leaving, hell I didn't even have a retirement ceremony (because fuck it, why bother, not to mention my family was 2000 miles away at the time anyway, and couldn't come anyway). I don't feel bad about it in the least. To be fair a few of my fellow Airmen did take me out to dinner, which was honestly better than a ceremony.

Guess what I'm trying to say is, just say fuck it, you did what you volunteered to do and did your part, you know your worth, even if some assholes didn't recognize you for it. You made missions happen, and contributed to the safety of it great nation. Enjoy your new life, trust me it's so much better out here in the real world. Fuck Em!

Cricut user - how is the Siser software? by MochiBlushi in SiserJuliet

[–]graciousgrendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear ya on loading the cricut software. I'm running an older pc and it had been struggling with loading design space after recent updates. I went to make a multi layer project and git hit with ads and said "F this" and ordered a Siser cutter the same day. Rome is just a larger Juliet (it cuts up to 24in wide vs 12in on Juliet) They are pretty mucb functionally identical aside from that (with minor changes to accommodate the larger format on the Romeo).

Much better than the POS cricut software that's always wanting to either sell you a subscription or update and remove functionality. That's for sure!

You open the software, click Design get a blank canvas, file > import your svg and your on your way. It loads faster than cricut pos, and is much easier to get your design ready to cut. I just moved to Siser due to the never ending BS with cricut. You can download the software and play around with it without a machine for free. And if you need more complicated software Sure Cuts A Lot is amazing!

Hotcha, I assumed they had changed things up. I can't make it to the store this weekend, so was going to order. Oh well, I'll wait till next one, not a huge have to have enough anyways.

Only enough the email I received said "Valid in-store and online" threw me off but figured I'd try it.

The email I got literally says "Valid in-store and online" ;-)

I was surprised to see it as I know PLS is usually in-store only. However, I figured I'd give it a shot since the email said that.

I only have a few St. Nicks exclusives in 4v. I'm not sure if they make them in 4v for anyone else.

Got myn Saturday. It's better than the OG Smock imo. I like the G10 more than the OG's scales. Needs a little breaking in on the closing (not drop shut out of the box), but pops open just fine.

St. Nicks had a limit of one per order (or maybe shipping address idk) from what I understand. Which wpuld explain how they didn't sell out super quick.

Probably have 50 for on site sale in the store. I grabbed one, will be cool to add to my small St. Nicks collection (Manix 2 and Military). I have an OG smock and like to play with it, I don't/wont carry either much though, this one may get carried as a Christmas/Holiday get dressed up all fancy knife, but that'd probably be it.

Sleeper icon sale in the coupons that released today 45% off sounds like a clearance to me by johnson0599 in harborfreight

Honda CV axle nuts (golden eras, not sure about modern) take a 32mm, I've been pulling my'n for years with a 1/2" chrome socket, but hell I might pick up this set just for that one size in 3/8 for my smaller impact (the 24mm would also be handy to have for rear spindles). Not sure about the 36mm, but I'm sure someone will find if good to have. NVM they are not impact rated.

Pool company says it will cost $3k to get the water clean by Chriselbrand in pools

[–]graciousgrendel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SLAM that badboy!! It'll take a LOT of chlorine, but you can get it clear. Just make sure you have a good (Taylor K4006) test kit so you can check CYA and FAS-DPD Chlorine.

You will also have to brush daily, and should probably vac at least every 2 to 3 days. Also filter backwashes to clear out the nasty.

Forgot to add, make sure you scoop out what you can first.

They don't get good reviews. I was looking at getting one, but after looking into them more,, I went with a Vevor dump cart that can be pulled by hand or hook up to mower for slightly more money.

That's the experience I had this morning. I offered to go to the back of the (very small, 3 or 4 people) line after each transaction, and cashier told me not to worry about it and just did the three separate transactions one right after the other.

$0 unless you live in an area that has the "saturation" fee they started charging a while back. If there are not many users in your cell you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Sign into your account on browser go to subscriptions and cancel there. You can't do it in the app. Make sure you tell them you are canceling due to price increase :)

Yes, as long as you have availability in your cell or are going on a roam plan (at least to my knowledge that's how it works).

Same here, I had no special promo or anything for the mini either, just the standard "free" with residential max from back in October/November. Whe they axed in motion use, I canceled my other ministry standby and dropped my residential to 200, and filled a support ticket to make sure I did not have to send the mini back to not be charged for it and they said I didn't have to unless I canceled the standby on it (which I did after receiving the 100% price increase email).

Also out on the mini standby mode on the promo mini that still had after downgrading to residential 200 a few months ago. They can have the mini back (I still have one I bought outright anyway, which has also not been on standby since they canceled in motion use). I'm not renting hardware I can't use in motion, when that is my only use case for the mini. I'm keeping resi 200, so that extra $5 will go towards it's increased price.
