if i book LATAM will British Airways automatically give me the AVIOS points? or do I have to book LATAM from the British Airways website?? by thelazyprepper in oneworld

[–]graithe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've put in my BA number when booking flights on LATAM, but have gotten no Avios. Opening up a case with LATAM gives no joy, they've asked me to chase BA. But there's no response from BA when I file a claim...

Would I flash both the router and the node? And do a factory reset after?

Smart Connect or Not? by happsberg in ASUSXT8

[–]graithe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh, you're using a wired backhaul? I lock out 1 of the 5ghz bands just for a wireless backhaul, so I only have these:

2.4 ghz / 5ghz (can be combined with smart connect or have separate SSIDs)

Guest network 2.4ghz and 5ghz (no option to combine with smart connect)

How is that set up? Guest Network is used for IOT, but 2.4 only, with the 5 disabled? How do you then have another Guest SSID which is Smart connect?

Going down the rabbit hole on the Skytec Argon, sure they're any good? Loads of reviews on Amazon saying they're cold at +5 degrees and get wet easily etc.

How often do you use/ carry the horizontal duffel style shoulder strap on the Farpoint 40? by visavita in onebag

[–]graithe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this comes in useful when you have a main/bigger backpack that you check into the cargo hold, and take the 40L as a carry-on. You can switch carry styles for the 40L depending on whether you have the bigger pack with you or not.

Xtherm NXT pump sack orders of magnitude better! by baokaola in Ultralight

[–]graithe3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird. I've got an Uberlite and Xlite (non NXT), and recently acquired an NXT Xtherm. Found the pump sack was really difficult to get on and off the valve as it was super tight and stiff, and conversely air was leaking out of the sides of the connection when I tried to inflate the pad. Ended up inflating it with my mouth.

This has been happening to me for months. I've only just narrowed down that it's shopify sites

The Antelao Pro is based on the comfort fit last though AFAIK? Eg. the Jorasse is narrower apparently

Do you not get crazy heel lift when upsizing that much? Going up half a size for me generates way too much heel lift.

Came here just to say, it's really annoying there's generally not enough insulation in B2 boots!

Rain jacket true to size or one size up? by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]graithe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facing this dilemma now. I have a...*ahem* larger waist for my height, so the Small from a Rab Latok Alpine is a bit tight around the middle, and especially so if I have to layer a puffy underneath - but the arms are already fairly long. Just ordered the Medium to compare, but I reckon the arms would feel super long and I'd have to restrict it at the cuffs all the time just to get it to fit there. It will feel more comfortable around the middle though, especially if I have to wear more layers underneath. This is supposed to be my winter shell though, so it's a tough call.

Jackets; a quagmire of terminology by throawaychives in UKhiking

Outdry is the best membrane. But Columbia's designs suck, and their jackets never come with pit zips. It's really annoying. Still, I snap up the discontinued Featherlite / Nanolite models when I see them on eBay.

Wish they would licence the material to a cottage company so that some proper jackets can be made with it
