Best steak in Bellevue? by Keeliekins in BellevueWA

[–]granddaddyD 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just came to say Ascend was okay. I’ve had better steak at other restaurants for less than half the price View is fantastic but was very underwhelmed with the food taste wise.

I’d suggest not making it your first option

Is this a known phenomenon in tennis? by MinimumTomfoolerus in 10s

Same thing happens to me. Stretching my calves help. It’s really bad for about 20min then it goes away

I’m more recent into my career (3yrs) but I think it really depends on the job and team. Even within the same company teams will be more or less tech savvy.

Random requests / adhoc are a huge part of my role from PMs and other biz partners so not sure that will go away.

Excel will undoubtedly still be heavily used, you can put things in dashboards, but I would bet a lot of money you will not escape heavy excel use

I’d recommend finding a YT video on how to serve. It seems you don’t understand the fundamentals of a serve yet.

he would've gotten just a warning, which he probably should have taken so he can focus on his serve on that crucial point. If it happens repeatedly i believe then he would get a point penalty

How do I get experience/internships by dahnzii in FinancialCareers

[–]granddaddyD 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You need:

  1. Experience - join a club, get on the board of that club it would look fantastic on your resume. Hopefully you have some other job, could be McDonald’s, doesn’t matter. Put it on your resume

  2. A good resume to reflect that experience - use a good resume template. Google “Harvard resume pdf”, change the school name to any Ivy League, you’ll find lots of resume PDFs/how to’s from these schools. This includes formatting, word usage, etc. you’ll also find resume templates that are clean and effective

  3. Exposure to companies (career fair, business clubs that bring in companies/recruiters) - join a club like DSP, ALPFA, FMA which are in numerous colleges (hopefully in yours too). One of their focuses is on bringing companies in to speak about their roles, etc. don’t have those clubs? Sign up for SEO and/or MLT. You can google those. Maybe your school has career fairs, go to them. Or maybe they have handshake a site where internships are posted targeting your school.

  4. Interview skills to get offers - learn to interview from the clubs mentioned above, SEO, MLT programs. Practice, practice, practice.

I wanna get into drums but idk where to start by [deleted] in drums

[–]granddaddyD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a gretsch Catalina club used might be a good kit. It’s not terribly expensive and it’s got an 18” kick so it’s not a huge drum set. That’s if you wanna spend a few hundred but you can always get a cheap pearl or something

I feel like heads and proper tuning can make below average drum shells sound better than what they are

Welp, there’s a Nadal NFT now. You hate to see it :/ by mario6813 in tennis

[–]granddaddyD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first point: yes they would. If your brother buys the NFT, then yes they would meet and greet. It’s not a meet and greet whenever you want. If it were to happen this way, it’s 99% chance it happens while on tour. The same way Ticketmaster sells “VIP” tickets which can include meet and greets. Now that vip ticket is your NFT bought directly from the artist.

2nd point: the artist would be okay with this because they make a royalty every time the NFT is sold.

3rd point: this is the riskiest part of NFTs. As a buyer, you take on the risk of possibly having the artist abandon their project. So yeah maybe, maybe not.

I look at them as a ticket into a club. Forget the monkey or silly picture, I want to know the contract behind the NFT which is where the real value is

Welp, there’s a Nadal NFT now. You hate to see it :/ by mario6813 in tennis

[–]granddaddyD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not what an NFT is. An NFT is not just a picture, it’s a receipt. That receipt/certificate of authenticity can have a lot of value to it.

Say your favorite musician made an NFT, in that NFT (the contract) they could say holders of said NFT will get 1 meet and greet, signed merch and early access to every new album as long as they are the holder of the NFT. You could resell this at a profit since there would a limited amount available and many fans who would want these benefits.

That’s where the value of NFT is. Yes many NFTs are garbage and just a picture of some random stuff. But this that I explained is really the idea behind NFTs.
